I set my tires to 30psi with digital tire inflator and the instrument cluster reads the same. That being said, TPMS is there incase I get a slow leak that only a TPMS is notice.

I use a Longacre racing tire gauge. Early on (July 2019), I compared the two and there was 2-3 psi difference the three times I compared the two. I just use the Tire Fill Assist. It's a Jeep, not a Formula 1 car.

33 posts in and no one mentioned that the tps does not give out an instant reading. Unless I missed a line.
If you turn on the Jeep and go to the tps page, it will give you the last readings.
I do not know how frequently it refreshes, but it is not instantaneous.

Give the sensors a minute to reset and then check against your gauge.

Still lower on my TPMS. In comparison to my gauge.

Well, I will give that quality brands of chromed brass of days past are okay. But few available for reasonable cost now, in The Army I had good ones as BII. But definitely not what most people would spend the $$$ for vs being able to spend $3-5 for, or $10-15 for oil filled dial guage. Especially after I've had a few lifted from my Jeeps.
The one stick that works well(I should of clarified) is the type you connect to a compressor.

Wow.... I can believe it these days but damn to steal it right out of your Jeep.... that sux

I've noticed a difference in cold pressure. TPMS says 29 but my tire gauge says 33-34 psi.
Which gauge are you using? What's do you trust more?
Mine does the exact same thing. I assumed my Lowe’s gauge was imperfect.

I stopped using them years ago. Friction and other factors can really throw them off.
I hate stick gauges as well. The ones still laying around are good for an indication only.

Also tpms is not immediately up to date when you air up or air down. It takes several minutes of driving.

Though I guess I need to trash my stick games based in this thread

As long as you have the ignition on “run”, TPMS does update live when tires decrease or increase pressure. TPMS will update love when moving, or when pressures change quickly, like when airing up and down. It doesn’t need to be running, just on run.

My TPS is dead on. Don't look at it for the 1st 5 minutes tho after cold start. It's never right on boot.
I was going to post this, right here.

In extremely cold weather, TPMS tend to take a little bit to 'catch up' to gauges, as it were.

Also, keep in mind, as your tires rotate, and make friction with the ground, they're always going to warm up, and the pressure WILL go up.

It's actually one of the bigger complaints I have with the stock Falken 33 MTs... Suckers can have an 8lb difference once you start moving. Example, when the JT is warmed up in the mornings, in spring or fall... it'll tell me I'm at 33-35lbs.. by the time I get to the office, it may read 41 or even 42 on those cool mornings that turn into hot days.

Only complaints I've had with TPMS, overall, are the older ones that would start to drift over time. Not sure if that's still a thing or not, but I remember my mother having me drive all the way to their place, to check her tire pressure, because her TPMS would state her front left and back right tires were low, when they clearly weren't. That was pretty early int he TPMS days, though. Hers was a.. 200..4? Dodge spirit I believe?

My tire gauge and my TPMS is very close (+/- 1 lb), Usually the same. Is it a decent tire gauge? You can get a good 0-100 lb gauge on amazon. The TPMS does take a short distance to reset.
