Hey,

I had planned on waiting to get the refreshed 24 Mojave or rubicon model when it was released but after seeing the minimal updates and now the uncertainty of what the strike may bring I’m looking at a 23 or even a 22 model with low mileage. I looked on kbb, Cr and jd power and everything sounds good. Do any of you have a 22 currently and have experienced any problems or any feedback on why I shouldn’t? Thanks

I have a 2022.
No cam issues like 2020, no axle leaks like 2021.
I see no reason to not have a 2022. It's truly a craps shoot with any model year but at least the bigger bugs have seemingly been take care of for the 2022 model year. I've not observed any issues with the 2022 model year that are odd or different from the others - other than the absense of some of the issues of the earlier years.
I'm 15,000 miles in on my 22 and still doing fine.

Keep in mind that if you visit that link above, you will be visiting a hospital to see how healthy the human race will be.

Having owned a 2020, 2021 and now currently a 2022 model, it is my opinion they have gotten better sorted over time.

The biggest drivers early on for problems was engine misfire issues, leaking rear window and leaking axles. That seems to be less of an issue today but nothing is ever absolute. That of course is for the gasser vehicles. Diesels and manual transmission folks have their own set of problems.

I think it is a safer bet looking at 2022 and 2023 models.

Late 2021 here...September 2021. A lot of 2022s are like 1 week newer. 12k....no problems but rear window leak.

10/21 Rubicon build. As close to a 2022 as you could get without being a 2022. I bought it in July with 3670 miles on it. I have put 3K on it so far, No issues whatever with it except leaking front passenger door lower seal and that's only in the car wash during the high pressure side rinse cycle. It's not enough for me to worry about as it's confined to that specific event.

22 Sport S - Bought March '22 - 7 miles
One misfire code early on that never came back.
25,040 after this weekend. No other issues that weren't user error or trail damage. ?

Makes me wonder if that wasn't the warm start misfire and the thing finally learned the settings it needed? Just guessing as I have no idea when your misfire code popped up - cold start or warm start, etc.
Obviously not an issue any more no matter the case.

22 Rubicon and no issues at all. Codes checked weekly and have never needed to clear one. Happy driving every time I go out.

Yeah, if I remember correctly it was a hot summer day and I had just gotten a little happy with the skinny pedal right before the misfire code/MIL.
From my post when it happened -

So I've been hit by the MIL yesterday and checked the code on it this morning and it's the P0300 - Random Misfire code....For reference, I bought mine on 3/8 so it's roughly 2.5 months old and has 4,680 miles...

But not one lick of problems since, so maybe it was still learning? Like ya said, obviously not an issue any more no matter the case.
