I went to the N.A.I. Detroit Auto Show and thought it would be 'fun' to try to capture it with my own video and pics. So, here is a link to some of my new '24 Gladiator Mojave footage which I finished editing (maybe?) late last night if anyone would like another perspective.

As well, I'll be posting a few more Jeep related videos as well as other brands as I'm able to work through what seem to be more edit than I ever realized.

I'll confess, attempting to seamlessly narrate a video, focus the camera, stay on point with the messaging (messaging I thought I already new, but seem to forget when the camera is staring at me or demands my attention steering it) has been a bit of a trial by fire. As well, editing video is a true craft, and I can't help but to feel like I'm out on the dance floor with two left feet. Still, it's been a real joy stretching myself with a new passion project. I hope you enjoy my "I'm self taught and it shows" experience!

Cheers!
Thanks for the video, first one I have seen with a complete walk around. How did those green seats look in person? The tow hooks almost look red but I assume they are the same orange that they have always been?

maybe im naive or completely missing something....but why 392 on the wrangler and not the gladiator to begin with? is that not a much better suited truck engine? am i completely missing something? the only complaint i have is the engine just doesn't quite have the juice that a truck engine should. or at least it doesnt feel that way. is this another "can't figure out how to cool it" thing?
My assumption has been due to the additional weight of the 392 resulting in lower payload and tow ratings.

I appreciate the kind words. I gotta confess, I had no idea how tongue tied and absent minded I could get until I started recording myself with the intent of sharing reviews. So, I’m still learning how to walk, talk, chew bubblegum and pointing a lens, not to mention edits and such. Still, it’s been fun.

Also, one other confession, I think I glazed over the option to upload the Mojave video to YouTube in 1080P which is what my video was saved in. So, I learned something there when posting up my most recent video. I’m curious if the resolution seem ok to you, or would you or other’s want me to import a new 1080p version of this video which I think would require posting a new link?

Ok, so to your question / observations. Those seats definitely were darker than the lighter grey that Mojaves used to have. However, I really didn’t think of them as green or green’ish, at the time, or at least not until you pointed it out. To me, I guess I’d describe them as about the halfway point between the lighter grey and the black leather. Not sure how much help that is, but I’d really recommend holding off on judging them as green until you see them in person. After rewatching the video, I definitely see them as more green, but again, that just not what I took away from my in person experience.

FYI, I filmed that with an iphone 13 set to 1080P. Overall, I‘d say 13’s get a lot of praise for the recording quality, but no matter what, some things just have to be seen in person.

Also, consider that the lighting in that place was very bright, which is going to just ruin colors for what they’ll look like in natural sunlight. As well, here’s another example of something that just does’t record true to form and so many other people on YouTube have commented on it as well. The Wrangler Rubicon seats look fairly bright in pictures and recordings, but they are much more muted in person and almost like an Oxblood Red if you’re familiar with that shade. I also remember a fair bit of controversy on about the pictures of Jeep’s Earl paint job vs what people said it looked like in person. Oh, and yes, the Mojave toe hooks seemed just as orange as they were before. So, again, wait until you see them in person as I think many will not see them as green as much as grey. I hope that helps!

On a side note, I’ll be posting a couple more gladiator videos (MAYBE the AEV Willys (if my footage is good)) and I just finished editing a ride along in a 392 Wrangler at the Jeep Camp which I uploaded in 1080p!!! I tried to add in a bit of dry humor in the 392 Wrangler video and included some bloopers footage at the end. Consider giving it a glance as there are some great background photos of the overall Jape (Jeep) exhibit. You just might find some nugget of useful information and at least one clip, line, banner or blooper that’ll make you grin. Linky:

I can't wait to see the payload sticker on the Mojave X.

My 2021 is 1084lbs with factory options:

Hardtop
Leather seats ( might add some weight? )
8.4
Active Safety group
Auto trans

Now imagine adding, all from the factory ( some negligible but still ):

Front and rear steel bumpers and bed sliders
12 way power seat controls
ACC
Side airbags
12.4 has to weigh more
aux switches
front trailcam
all the heated options

What's payload gonna be? 700? lol

They had to have made a suspension change, probably springs, on the Mojave for 24'.

I thought the video quality was good. I didn’t notice it wasn’t in 1080. Also, Jeep says the new Mojave alternate leather color is green and black so I believe it’s definitely some shade of green. The dash covers look green as well. I can see what you mean by the super bright lighting.

Also looks like grab handles are no longer able to be added to the 2024 because of the airbags.

Yeah. It's pretty bad. I thought my Internet was going down.
Please do repost in 1080P.

Does anybody know if power seats are going to be available in upper tier models only (i.e. leather seat options).

I'm looking to get a Willy's but there is zero indication if there's an option available for it.

According to the order guide, they are only available on the Mojave X and Rubicon X. I ordered a Mojave and couldnt add it.
