I'm looking for more under seat storage space in the rear

Do the aftermarket under seat storage bins (like what 813 Fabrication offers) give more storage volume than the OEM non-locking bin?

The metal one I saw on display from Tuffy appeared to offer more space because it was made of sheet metal instead of rounded off blow-molded plastic. However, it also had sharp corners that were much less forgiving and didn't fit the contour of the seat as well. The locking ones also don't include the slope at the back of the floor where the jack is stowed, cutting into the actual usable space.

I'd consider it to be a wash between the OE bin and the metal locking boxes; the bin has thicker walls, but the box doesn't fit the vehicle as well so you lose some of the smaller spaces that are handy for sorting things like microfiber towels, winch controllers, or other small items - I plan to stick with the bins.

The OEM non-locking one holds way more stuff than the OEM locking one. But you apparently already have (or have already seen) the non-locking one.

What I want is a fold-flat floor. While the seats fold forward to a relatively flat area, it is way up near window level where my stuff can blow out or fall out of the window.

That would be nice, but I think the only way to do it would be if the seat bottoms flip up and forward so the seat back and fold down - that would pretty much eliminate underseat storage, make it impossible to slide the front seats back all the way, and you'd have to remove the headrests from the rear seat to make them fit (assuming you could even hinge them low enough with the shape of the floor).

I had a similar setup on my Nissan, I very much prefer the storage and seats in the Jeep.

I have the @813 Fabrication & Design under seat storage and there is more room to me. I can post a picture if you want. Plus if you get the Molle one you can attach stuff to the outside. I just mounted a fire extinguisher on mine. Plus, it's lockable.

Let me know if there are any questions I can answer. With the way I designed the Under Seat Bin, it basically turns the whole area into a storage space similar to the basic plastic "wall" that comes standard in the JT. My bin sits out further to the edge of the seat. With the way the brackets work on the bottom of the seat, the entire area under the seat becomes area to store gear. I consider my brackets a "theft deterrent" it is not a lock box. Honestly, none of them are going to be fully safe. A quick crowbar will open just about anything.

I concur with that assessment- the 813 provides more and better storage, with locks on both sides!
