Just bought a 23 Rubicon, I’m trying to figure out if I got wifi hotspot or Sirius XM free trial. How do I know? It was so late we just left and no one helped me set up anything

I can't speak of the wifi Hotspot but you should have a Sirius xm trial period. It's probably 3 or 6 months. I had a year free trial when I bought mine on 2020. Check your window sticker, it should tell you what came with your purchase. Hope this limited help, helps. Congrats and enjoy your new ride. Welcome to the lifestyle....

If the head unit includes Satellite Radio, then it should include a SiriusXM Music trial subscription.

If it includes Remote Start using the phone app, then it should include a one year trial subscription to SiriusXM Guardian. The dealer has to setup an account for you so that it works.

The head unit has to have a cellular connection to have a Wi-Fi hotspot. That is a separate subscription that is purchased through AT&T. If the head unit has remote start through the phone app, then it should have a Wi-Fi hotspot option.

I'm kinda confused also by what I have, or am supposed to have. Mine is a basic 23 Sport with the 7" display. According to the build sheet, it has:

4G LTE WI-FI HOT SPOT
SIRIUSXM GUARDIAN-INCLUDED TRIAL (B)
ALL VP2R RADIOS

However, the hotspot and guardian don't show up on the window sticker. When I was at the dealer, they told me about all the wonderful things Guardian can do, but when I tried to add the VIN in the Jeep app, it told me it can't be added, call this number, which took me to Sirius, and they told me I don't have an account and the dealer has to enroll me. Supposedly the dealer was supposed to send me a link to sign up, and they keep saying they sent it, but all I get is an email saying a change has been made to the account, but no link.

Now, I don't know if I should even be bothering to sort it out. As I said, mine is a bare bones Sport, don't even have any buttons on the keyfob, no power locks, no remote start, etc. So what (if anything) would it do for me?

For that matter, what does the Jeep phone app actually do that I can't do through my account on the mopar website? Since the app won't accept my VIN I haven't been able to get into it to see what it actually does.

To my knowledge, only the larger 8.4 radio got the Cellular Wi-Fi connectivity and the Sirius Guardian package.

No clue why that would be listed in your build sheet for a base Sport and a 7.0 radio.

Well, the wifi hotspot (and SOS and Assist) are all there on the touchscreen, though they don't do anything without the Guardian service.

Do you have the SOS and Assist physical buttons on the mirror overhead?

I just pulled up my 2020 Gladiator Build Sheet that had the 7.0 radio and none of those services were listed on it.

I suspect this must be some later integration thing then. On the surface, I would say yeah that you should have access to at least the Guardian service as that is what is need for the SOS and ASSIST service.

As to why you do not have it? I have no clue. If you get it sorted, let us know for the next guy.

I have a 2021 with the 7” radio but it doesn’t have those buttons overhead and doesn’t have wifi or guardian.

The Jeep app gives you access on your mobile device to what is available on the web site. If you already have an account linked to your email address and can login to the web site and see your truck, then you should be able to login to the Jeep app using your email address and password that you use to login to the web site.

If your truck is equipped with a cellular connected head unit and the remote start feature, and has a active Guardian subscription, the Jeep app can also be used to Remote Start, Lock, and Unlock the vehicle. These options are also available from the web site, if the vehicle is so equipped.

The build sheet and window sticker should match, but the window sticker is what you have to follow. There may have been changes applied during assembly due to option conflicts or parts shortages.

You may need to make a trip back to the dealer and get it all sorted out.

My dealer sat with me before I drove away and helped me set up all the associated accounts. Jeep wave, SiriusXM Guardian, the Jeep App, etc. Through the app, I can remote start, lock, unlock and bring up location of my jeep.

Yeah same for me. Build sheet shows 4G hot spot and xm guadian trial b. However I don’t see anything related to xm on the screen or the Jeep app. I do think the WiFi works though.

So siriousxm guardian and Sirius xm are two seperate things. So if I don’t see the Xm radio button anywhere in my head unit I’m assuming I would not be able to somehow add it or use it in the Jeep even with a subscription. Via the head unit?
