Depends in traveling…. Sometimes a lockable case… thinking of a awning system though which would make tailgating at games a tad more comfy.

mountain bike racks attached to roof rack for the bikes
just to name a few…

On the car I use the roof basket for firewood, saw, gas, dirty/smelly stuff you don't want inside. Never understood the roof racks on a truck unless it's for lumber or ladders.

Bed rack or roof rack? Well... I've had both.

I had a full height bed rack and mid height. I used it for my RTT and sometimes my spare tire when the tent wasn't on there and I was out wheeling.

My roof rack is used my fishing poles, porta-bote, steel beam, fence posts, pretty much anything.?

sometimes long lumber, but most of the time for the kayaks because i have the hard type tonno and dont want a rack on the bed. I use an adjustable cross arm in the hitch to hold up the other end

Install was very easy. I used this one for price and I wanted it to mount in my T-slots from the roll-n-lock bed cover

Thanks for that. I was actually inquiring about the single bar rack that is attached to the rain gutters on your hard top. I should have been clearer with my question.

So far they are holding up well. I only use to balance the weight on the nose of the paddle board, since mine is 11"4". I stack my wife's on top
