I was born and raised in Florida. I've seen rural areas turn into retirement communities full of Northerners overnight. (The Villages) Now I get told on a daily basis how my way is wrong and they know everything.

I was born in Michigan but lived in FL for 19 years. I couldn't wait to get out because of this exact issue! Those people in The Villages are a pain in the ass!

I'm one of those yankees that moved to Nashville. I'm sorry.
Well as long as you’re not driving like these impatient, distracted and deadly drivers… well no worries. Welcome to TN.

I am looking for another. 1 ton OBS Ford diesel for my commute.

or maybe this will do

It has nothing to do with "yankees" or "northerners" and everything to do with idiot drivers. IMO the problem is that every state seems to think that a drivers license is a human right rather than something to be earned. At least 50% of the drivers I see on the roads should not have a license or be allowed to drive period. It is a skill and it takes practice, not just a written test and it isn't a right it is a privilege. For those without a license the penalty should be much higher than it is by far because to many don't care and get away with it repeatedly.
A few years back we got hit by a drunk driver who had her license revoked in 3 states due to drunk driving and of course no insurance. Totaled my truck, ruined my dogs for driving with me and she ran from the hospital never to be heard from again. My guess she is now in Tennessee (LOL) with a new license.

Clearly you've never driven in PA, NJ, NY and points north. Bad driving is a hallmark of Northeastern drivers.

NY and NJ drivers are so bad I won't EVER consider a used car that spent time in either state. Between the shitty drivers and the worse roads it wreaks havoc on a car. PA isn't much better. And Massachusetts drivers earn the title Massholes without even trying. I was just there in October and they were in rare form to say the least. The 45 minute drive from Logan to Salem was... harrowing. And I grew up driving the DC and Baltimore Beltways.

I wouldn't either, but mostly due to the corrosion issues.

Give me California drivers any day, at least they know how to use a freeway. Sure, the traffic has two settings: 90 mph or 9 mph, but I will take it over most states.

Grew up in the Baltimore area. 695 was always kind of nuts but it's gotten BAD. DC Beltway is a demolition derby where the speeds can literally vary 50mph any given time across all lanes, with the slowest in the passing lane.

I was in Annapolis, MD driving to a meeting for an onsite solar field finish site walk. I witnessed on my way there. a head on accident between a new Porsche and a Hyundai SUV. The SUV went over a guardrail and was suspended about 20 feet in the air at its front by trees. The only passenger a woman, was pretty busted up but I couldn’t get in to help her.
The Porsche driver was at fault. I was shocked how the Porsche literally came apart right in front of my car. Into pieces. The cars body flying everywhere and as the car slide sideways to a stop the passenger door flew open from the impact of a curb and the driver rolled out of the passenger door across the pavement. I swear it was almost comical and seemingly in slow motion. The Porsche driver’s phone was still in his hand and he kept talking to whomever he was before the accident. He just stood up and stayed on the phone. I went to triage him first and he pushed me away after i told him to sit down. I had others call 911 and watch him. I went over to check on the woman in the suv. I could only reach the bottom of her suv passenger door, well where the door was supposed to be. I could see she was bleeding from at least one compound fracture, and moaning. I had to tell her to hold still until the rescue got there. The SUV kept rocking forward and I was afraid it would slip in front and drop off of a cliff that was about a 50 ft drop. The fire department was first on scene and they came over to me, one fireman stepped over the guardrail as I was giving him a med report on Suv driver. The fireman looked at me, then the SUV and said “holly Shit!” Yup, holy shit was right.
I bet the Porsche was running well over 100mph when they hit. They both survived. I have pics somewhere, I’ll post when I find them.

@XJADDICTION holy hell. That is nuts but it really doesn't surprise me. Good on you for taking command of the situation.

Earlier this year there was a fatal on 695 near Security Blvd. Nissan and VW Jetta more or less were playing chicken. VW sped up, Nissan moved into the lane, clipped the VW and launched, rolling over several times into the jersey wall protected work area, killing 4-5 workers. It hit it at the perfect spot at the worst time- a vehicle access break in the wall. Tragic, but all caught on SHA cameras. Both drivers survived.

Now they block the left lane and have a solid jersey wall to slow down all traffic. But people still drive like assholes.

The stock bumper even! Wow.
Been through Nashville 4 times and I hate it. (Des Moines to Sarasota and St. Augustine and back twice) Each time the traffic and drivers sucked.
However, I had to say it but Iowa is known for rude drivers and I mean rude.
Friend lived in Toronto (yeah, that Toronto)
He was an employee of a company that Symantec had just bought, and his fiancé was an employee of Symantec in Eugene, I was a volunteer support person for Symantec.
He flew to Eugene where he met up with his future wife and drove her and her car back to Toronto where they'd be married and live. Their path took them just 15 minutes from me so I invited them to stop by on their way and hang out and stay the night (save a hotel bill) and carry on the next day.
We met up at a gas station north of Des Moines so we could all go out for supper before heading back to our place.
He's a tall dude, her car was small....... he pulled into the gas station where we met up and got out of the car and was looking over at us across the roof her her car and the first things he said were cussing Iowa drivers and he said "I knew when I was getting closer to West Des Moines as people started tailgating, cutting me off, fingering me..........." and he had plenty to say about the drivers here.
He said all the way from Eugene, Or, he never had anything like that until he got close to Des Moines. He'd never experienced such rudeness.
My son says it's because they take that farm back roads driving and try to translate it into heavy traffic - he agrees drivers here are jerks.

Actually I have driven in every one of the lower 48, and yes some places are worse than others but the plague of bad drivers is everywhere IMO. Always arguable and certainly the uptick in some areas can be greater than others at different times so I won't stand firm, ha. I will happily join the "NE drivers are terrible" campaign and every other one out there across the country!
