Proximity Keyless Entry Works only 1-5% of the time

I'm wondering if anyone who has proximity keyless entry has seen the issue where it works very very very intermittently? Mine is a 2020 BTW.

I can't pinpoint how or when it decides to work which leads me to believe that something isn't all the way plugged in somewhere, or isn't reading the right voltage to work. Anyone know what I should check for and or how?

How long have you had the truck?

How long has this been going on?

Have you replaced the battery in the FOB?

Have you ever taken the doors off?

I can try to replace the battery but the FOB seems to work from a pretty far distance.

I haven’t taken doors off. Previous owner did.

I have a 2020, and mine started to have intermittent issues (proximity, remote start, lock/unlock) recently. Like others here pointed out, it ended up being the fob battery.

Mine also worked intermittently from a good distance, even through walls. When I started it remotely, it would run for a bit, then just shut down. Seems like the Jeep was making sure a valid key was in proximity. New battery took care of it. My cheap Amazon battery tester showed the fob battery as good (in the green range), but apparently, it was too weak.

Also keep your phone out of the pocket your key goes in. Mine won’t unlock with my phone and key in the same side.

Good to know but they are always on separate sides.
