Hey y'all. I'm new to the jeep/off-road world. Any advice would help!

I just got a 2022 Jeep Gladiator willy's manual and it came with 315/70's BFGs. I would like to move up to a 35 to 37 inch in the future. I need a suspension lift that will not look too high and make my wheel look like a roller skate with the intension to upgrading tires later on. I was thinking suspension, re-gear, then tires. I drive mostly on road but want the capability to flex off road. I would even consider getting a kit with front lower control arms now and adding all other arms at a later date. My budget is $2,700 dollars as of right now. Thanks for any response in advance.

Im considering Rusty's 2 inch suspension or icon stage 2 with coils and shocks and adding Clayton control arms and track bars...... the Clayton and metal cloak kit's sit a bit higher than what would look with 315/70s in my opinion.... any advice would help or pics of anyone running those kits with 315/70s

That budget of $2,700 unfortunately will barely cover the cost of just a lift kit. A good lift kit including shocks that is.

check out extremeterrain.com or northridge4x4 and look at lifts available.

Mopar or AEV lifts would be a good starting point and both include shocks and you could add extra parts as you want.

your tires are the same as a 35x12.50-17 BFG K02 right now

Looks good like it is. Run it like it is. Upgrade later if you find you actually need to.

On thing to consider is replacing the running boards with rock sliders or steps that can take the hit if your 4 wheeling has the potential to drag them across rocks or the ground. The downside is you'll find your rear door hinges and fenders getting pelted with rocks from your front tires.

I've also always preferred the approach where you drive the Jeep for a while first to learn its capabilities, strengths, and shortfalls before adding modifications to address areas that need improvement based on your particular usage and requirements. Seems too often folks tend to jump directly into mods that are more than they'll ever need, frequently to the detriment of how they actually typically use the vehicle. I'd put the money aside for now, just enjoy the truck as is and get to know it better.

Do you know if the axles have been re-geared for the tires?
If not, take that into account with your budget and plans as well.

Thank you. I wanted AEV but the only lift shop in my town advised against it because of the control arm drop brackets. When I pushed for the kit again they continued to advise against it. However I have only seen good reviews on the kits.

I did not know the tires were the same as 35x12.5 17 KO2's. That's good to know. The Mopar lift seems to get good reviews as well. I am going to look into them more.

Thanks for the reply. I need to really dial in what I need it for most. I will be using it to travel on the freeway but want I like to drive on beaches and muddy roads. Mostly just fine sand and swampy roads here in North Florida. Also need it for getting grocery's........ gotta look good at all times. I don't need a monster off-road machine, just a decent zombie apocalypse bug out vehicle.
