Keep in mind, that's a Rubicon (and a beautiful one at that). It has wider axles and longer springs than your Willys, so it has more room for those 35's. As for installing the TeraFlex levellers, they're pretty simple if you have a floor jack, jack stands, and a torque wrench (or have a friend who has them). A friend and I both have Willy's and, working together, it took less than an hour for each of us to do ours. Working on one side at a time, disconnect the swaybar and front shock from the axle. Lower the axle and remove the spring. Install the Teraflex parts per the instructions. Reinstall the spring and bolt everything back together. We didn't have to loosen the upper and lower control arms or disconnect the track bar like the instructions said.

Someone may correct me, but with a 1.5 you should have ample room for 35s. I have the teraflex kit, but, so long as it's a true "spacer" kit, it's all the same anyway. Can't go wrong with any of the big names.
Technically true, but not really functionally. If he had a Rubicon, then it works... I'd recommend what a lot of guys, including myself, have done... get Rubicon take off suspension, and add a 1.5 inch level to the front.

The Rubicon suspension will net you about 1 inch over stock, then the 1.5 to level the front.

My only issues with 35's, is a very minor rub at full turn of the steering wheel, and the belly just a touch lower than I really like...

Add a couple of bags of cement or sand in the bed, problem solved and money saved ;D
You can thank me later, happy wife happy life.
And then start a small piggy bank. Evertime you have some cash no ones gonna miss, just throw it in there. Then get the wheels and lift you really want and not a budget solution. Makes living with the comments like the jeeps hard to get into or drives like a ship etc much more bearable.

... and now I want to make mine look a little more badass without breaking the bank.

Famous last words. As said before...welcome to the start of bankruptcy

Seriously, if you like it this much now, it is never going to end. 25 years ago I thought my first TJ was going to be enough. I'm on my 5th Jeep now, with plans for a toy I can beat on

Hey guys! I am one year into my lease of my 2022 jeep gladiator Willy’s. I absolutely love it and am def going to purchase at the end of the lease. That being said, I’m ready to start doing a few upgrades. I spoke to my contact at big O tires and it looks like I’m in for at least 2200 for a 2.5 inch lift with 35s. Needless to say, no way my wife would every sign off on that. So I’m searching for cheaper options if anyone has any advice. maybe just keeping my stock willys tires on. I saw another guy who kept his stock tires and put on a 1.5 in level kit and I thought it looked really good so maybe that’s a decent cheaper option?? If I order to 1.5 in kit will most tire places install for me? I’m def not a car guy so talk to me like I have no idea what you’re talking about, because chances are I don’t. I won’t do hardly any off road stuff except for driving thru fields to fill feeders and haul deer out. I just want it to look better because I can’t stand how low the front looks compared to the back. Any and all advice would be awesome! Thanks!
You close to a 4 wheelparts store? My daughter got a leveling kit put in her sport there for ubder $300 and I put a of 35's I had when i switched to 37's on it looks nice and no rub

Buy your wife a nice purse then go get your lift and tires.
I did exactly this up until 1.5 years ago. She now has her own JKU...and mods have already started. Just got 37's and a regear.

Can I file double bankruptcy???

you definitely don’t need to do this for the install but you definitely should do this so the bushings won’t be in a bind after the lift/level.

I did a 2.5" level on my JTOD and added 37s, never touched the track bar or the control arms. Hell when I went to 4.5" lift I never even touched the upper control arms or removed the front drive shaft like the directions asked for. My wife's 18 JLU has been on 2.5" spacers and 35s since 2018... never touched the track bar or the control arms.

I'd be willing to bet that at 1.5" the OP can forego messing with those items.

You may be correct. But wouldn't the vertical motion of suspension travel put the same stresses on the bushings? I did the same for a 2" TJ spacer lift and drove it for 11 years with no control arm bushing issues. Maybe I just got lucky with that one.

Sure but it would be stress from a neutral position keeping the bushing within it’s designed range of motion.

in the end it’s your jeep you do what you want, I was just pointing out that it *should* be done.
