Most people hate the 20" rims, and some people seem annoyed at the lack of heated seats and adaptive cruise control...
Ohhhh, I ditch stock rims asap, so that's not a big deal but the heated seats thing is a mandatory. I'm too broken to not have my built in heat therapy...

Dealing with health insurance companies / claims, dealing with banking / investment entities, dealing with car insurance companies or any company that has a ‘call center’ in some foreign country (no offense).
Luckily, I've had no issues in those areas.

I've got the same insurance agent I had in 1983. If he can't handle it, he finds someone who can, or, I call their main office just 30 minutes from me and talk to someone who lives in the Des Moines area. No call center elsewhere.

Banking - all local (save for the credit cards they farm out - that's a bitch)

Health insurance - local companies, local people. BUT - the pre-approval stuff can be a joke due to their rules (good story on that one!)

Health CARE - don't move to central Iowa for that - stay far far far away if health care is a concern.

Investments - local guy, all handled locally or I do it online.

Dealing with Safelite was a pain in the ass. Hope I never ever have to deal with them again. If they screw up, sure, they have a "guarantee" but don't be in a hurry for them to get that taken care of.

It's a mixed bag - and some things you really have no control over.

You’re lucky…. I’ve been working for the same ‘printing place’ since 1994. I can’t count how many times its merged or changed ownership. Last year alone …. It changed owners 3x!!! Each time was a paperwork (insurance) nightmare…from one company, to Cobra, to another company, then back on Cobra again, to the final company by the end of the year. And wait…..it changed again in 2025.
Let’s not forget…3 separate 401K’s and 3 separate HSA accounts. I‘d consolidated 2 of them but gave up when the 3rd ownership change occurred. 🙄

As for Banking… We don’t like to keep our eggs in one basket. We have both local banking & investments, as well as a couple bigger (non local) investment groups. The hubby keeps track of all that.

It’s just a damn shame the inability of some folks and/or businesses to get stuff done accurately, efficiently, timely, and with proper communication.
It’s a damn miracle when things actually go smoothly - it’s like HOLY SHIT??? There is HOPE!!! 🤣

I spent most of my life in vehicles without ANY heat (or air) so I've still got that step before I need therapy seats!

I've noticed I'm in the ~3% of people in my area cruising with the windows down when it's 110 out.

I used to work at Compressor Controls Corp - when they had JUST sold the company to Roper. It was fine - but Roper sent in their own management and made some changes later on. I finally left when Roper reigned things in tighter. Last month I talked with the last field engineer who was still there at the time I left - he finally left last year and said they sold to Honeywell and things went into the septic tank really fast, cut almost all of the field engineering staff (which is where they made the most money with the least overhead!)
I was at Principal when they went public - wow, did that ever SUCK.
Yeah, I get it. You've been there, done that.

This ‘new‘ venture I’m in (since Sept 2024)… Let’s just say…. They’re trying to make square pegs fit in round holes and are hell bent in trying to make it work. 🙄
I’m lucky …there are about 10 of us still left from the original company and we’ve been voicing our concerns (and suggestions in getting things fixed) since day 1. A year later…It’s still a cluster.

I’d love to find another job. If the right opportunity came by, I’d be outta there.
It’s hard to find something I can work from home fulltime & keep my 5 weeks vacation.

So, i think this forum could be really great. I think there is a lot of useful information here. I wish I could say I like it. This forum is so opinionated and chippy, it makes for a hard read. It would be great if we could all share information as adults. I really appreciate the moderators for creating it. Please calm down.
Just noticed this post. It seems to come w/age of forums that stay active over time. Try going to sister forum "Jeepwranglerforum". They have "Experts" w/10,000 plus replies/reactions (mostly in the "off topic" section vs tech) and only 12 thread starts, that have been there since earlier than 2020, that will gangb**g you and have you banned for touting something other than the "most recognized" members.

This group is a lot more helpful w/o too much torching.
If you have made an honest search on the topic youre interested in, AND, ask for help/opinions, thats what you'll get. No homework at all on your part, may get u flamed(or trolled-for humor). By the way GROK is an excellent "Deep Searcher". Note, you sometimes have to refine the grok search to get the specific info youre looking for.

Back in the early 2000's ROF(RubiconOwn**sForum)was a great tech advice forum for my 2004, TJ Rubi, but has lost most of its traffic.

Same time frame, SolsticeOwn**sForum was similar, but w/no more Solstice production, only longtime, hardcore mems left.

Have fun!

Welp, bubby ya barking up the wrong tree all children here , not a single mechanic. If your having reading difficulties I suggest enrolling in a online reading course. Since we are so opinionated how's about another opinion. Go somewhere else. Cheers

If that guy was from here we would toss him over into Ohio with the rest of them Buckeyes .
I think he left a long time ago.
