Honestly, I would try to shed some weight first. I even have an Alu-Cab camper setup and don't weigh 7k even with the diesel.

I doubt that - unless you go camping with all backpacking gear, no fridge, and only backpacking meals. That ARB bumper and winch alone is probably over 200 pounds.

Look at Matt from Ozark. he hardly has anything and is over GVW without him or any food/water. Most people with a canopy, fridge, batteries, lift, skid plates, winch, bumper and all the 'normal' overland gear are going to be quite a bit over GVW

I never said I wasn't over GVW. When I scaled it, it was fully loaded with myself, my wife, and everything for a weekend trip (including full fuel and DEF) and was 10 lbs shy of 7k. Granted, it was a farm road scale, not certified. I'm driving to KOH, I will roll it through a certified CAT scale.

I live in Hawaii so I only drive like 30 mins to the anybeach to set up and I’m heavy because I have a 60 lb smoker I bring to the beach 20 gallon water tank I have the e-bike on the back and I carry a yeti 65 cooler fill of beer I’m not sheading any of the that weight that’s why I went with the aev high capacity springs

The last time I went to a CAT scale fully loaded out I was at 7240lb. I was running Synergy Mfg 3" springs front and 3" springs rear + 3/4" Daystar. I was sitting with a level rake at that weight.

Do you "need" airbags is dependent upon what you are looking to achieve by having them IMO...
1) Is you truck sitting level (or with any rear rake)? If you're not squatting or blinding people with mis-aligned headlights after fully loading your rig then I'd say the AEV HC springs are at a minimum handling the load
2) Are you hitting the rear bump stops too much? Airbags might be good to gain some lift
3) Are you experiencing excessive body roll? Maybe a Hellwig sway bar or firmer shocks would be more beneficial than airbags

I guess I'm just curious what additional benefit you are anticipating by installing airbags?

I posted this in another thread, but Accuair has a rear-only airbag setup that I feel is going to be very applicable to Overland style builds

I haven’t put the coils in yet and I have evo plush springs with the airbags so just wondering when I swap them out if I should keep the bags installed just in case but idk if the diameter of the inner coil is smaller cause the aev coils are a lot thicker and the airbag spacer might not fit so it might not work anyway unless I shave down the spacers

@Bobatwar I just installed AEV 3" HC springs in my gas JTR as I have a new Scout Tuktut camper going on very soon and will be a great reference for you. Currently my unloaded JTR sits with a 2.75" rake front to rear so I anticipate that they will perform nicely. The Scout Tuktut is rated at 638lb empty.

Also, search GP Factor on Instagram and you'll see he had one of the most built out AluCab Canopy Campers on a JTR. He was only running AEV 3" HC coils as well. His stance seemed great and I imagine he's easily pushing 700lb constant load.

Rajah I think that’s the plan only springs and no airbags or spacers in the back I guess can add later if I really need to

@Bobatwar I just dropped a 700lb Scout Tuktut into my bed and the rear AEV HC springs only sagged 3/4". I still have 2in of rake. These springs are legit!

I even had my 220lb friend sit on the edge of the tailgate (weight way past the rear axle) and he only dropped it another 1/4".

I plan for a similar set up with SmartCap AEV 3” and 35s. I’m ordering if height will be an issue since my wife and I are 5’3.

Do you have any issues?
No issues with the height I like the 35 just enough height
