I think I recall seeing ShadowsPapa ranting about this on a thread a while back.

Im curious about it as well, ive been wondering the pros and cons of this product vs installing the aluminum filter housing and continuing to use the cartridges.

I have the Baxter on both my Wranglers
No more valve train rattle on start ups
With the factory set up the oil will drain out of the filter / oil cooler housing
What got me interested in a solution was the first time I changed my oil
I looked at the oil filter housing and said to myself. This is going to be a mess when I replace the filter
I was shocked when I removed the oil filter to see NO oil in the housing and NO oil dripping from the filter. I said this is not right and that's when I started looking into a solution
I saw the Baxter on line put was not convinced until I saw Joe selling them at my local 4x4 shop
He told me he installs them all the time so I decided to give it a try and glad I did
The Baxter has a check valve along with a check valve in the spin on filter keeping the oil up in the filter after shut down
Benefits. Maintaining oil in the filter and no longer pushing all that air through the oil galleys on start up

If it's snake oil, then I am a rube. I installed one 4 months ago. I have noticed no difference in engine sounds or performance. I fell for the claim that, at start up, the Baxter system keeps oil in the top half of the engine is designed to avoid dry starts and should help avoid premature valve issues.
Changing the filter is a bit more involved as you need to use a compressor to blow the oil out of the filter and housing before unscrewing the old filter. Not using compressed air would mean that all that oil retained in the filter would run all over one's engine. Obviously, this is not a problem if you have a compressor mounted on your rig or have one handy where you do oil changes, assuming you do your own changes.
Installing the Baxter was easy. As they indicate in their installation video, you might need to Dremel off a wee bit of plastic. I had to but still found the installation simple and I am a JV level mechanic at best.

(Why Chrysler Pentastar Engines Fail)
I purchased the Baxter Performance Spin-on Oil Filter Adapter after watching the above clip on YouTube. I grew up in the '50s and '60s, working on all types of hot, clunker, and junker engers. It was the Hot Street Rod that you see in the movies and not as good-looking. My cousin, Uncle, Brother, and Dad all thought it was fun. Oiler's problem was always a major factor in the engine breakdown. This clip showed a lot about the oiling problem on Pentastar. Watch it to the end, and you may gain insight as I did....Mac

None of your business.
This is a vexing topic due to very selective information being cherry-picked and submitted in favor of this devices efficacy. I'm sure the guys at Baxter are very nice people, and their product appears to be a quality product. If it would bring you peace of mind to buy and install it --go for it. That said:

There are ~20 Million Pentastar created since 2011. There are zero (0) reports of a Pentastar suffering a dry-start or cold-start-oiling related problem. Stated differently; this device is the clever solution to a problem which does not exist.

Pentastar PUG's DO NOT start with the cam's big lobe engaged. There is no opportunity for the big lobe to be damaged during start-up folks. Only higher than 3000rpm is when the big lobe is engaged. The video above is real and represents real damage --but none of that damage is related to lack of start-up oiling.

There are many very good contributors and very significant, helpful, and valuable free information on this site. Let's work together to prevent the spread of known incorrect and misattributed data.

My Baxter Performance Adapter did my 2023 Tax Returns, so I find value in it.

Really. Is that value-add only available for the standard deduction, or will it itemize too? Can you ask it about a 1031 exchange... for a friend?
Does it all to include Schedule C if you are a sole proprietor or single member LLC.

Maybe more snake oil, but I added Lucas Oil Stabilizer at my last oil change and the valve rattle has gone away for me

I installed the Baxter unit on my Gladiator.
Definitely got rid of the ticking/clanking at start up.

Just ordered one for my 2018 JLUS.
