I bought a pair of KC flex era 3s and I was going to replace the stock fog lights with them but was not happy with the look and it seemed like it would be very difficult to get them aimed properly. The bracket that comes with them to replace fog lights doesn’t seem to allow adjustment while installed so you need to keep installing and uninstalling to aim which is just a poor design unless I was doing something wrong.
In either case I think I want to mount them to the stock bumber. I have never mounted anything to the bumper so I am new to this. It seems like the bumper has some kind of thread insert that is smaller than the post on the lights. I can’t tell if the insert is easily removable. Seems like an adapter bracket would be the way to go. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

The bolts on the steel bumper can be removed and used to mount bars/brackets. I have the MOPAR hoop on mine and they also make nice brackets that clamp on.

I mounted lights directly to the bumper by removing some of the screws and placing them in those locations.

This is exactly what I'm looking to do but the thread mount for the KC lights is to large. I'm actually looking for yellow driving lights. A) what lights are those I like them B) did they come with the mounting bracket or did you buy it separately. C) did the bracket have a hole for you to reuse stock bumper bolt or come with an attached thread rod. That's the problem with the KC lights the bracket has an attached bolt not a hole.

Here are a few pics of the mount, these are just a cheap set from amazon. I have had them on for the past 2 1/2-3 years and they are holding up well. The mounting bolt is already captured in the mount but it does fit in the holes without having to modify anything.

How do you like your LP6s? I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a pair.

I've used many different lights through the years. I'd have to say the LP6s are my favorites. The spread is amazing. The reach isn't quite as great as some of the BD and Rigid Industries light bars I had on previous Jeeps, which is why I added the XL-R Racer Edition spots. For Off-Road use, the XL-R spots are way overkill (except for racing), but I use all 4 lights for several miles on the backcountry road approaching my cabin, where I usually see about 50-100 deer waiting to jump in front of the Gladiator on my way home at night.

When I ordered the LP6s, there was a photo on the BD website of the lights mounted exactly as I have them, using existing bolts on the OEM steel bumper. Each set of lights is wired to a separate switch in the OEM Auxiliary Switch Panel. I did not connect the foofoo LP6 backlighting.
