If I was in a warmer or more temperate climate, I would absolutely go lithium hands down. But it's just too cold here 9 months out of the year. Still looking forward to hearing how that heater works for you. I really like how you routed the exhaust!
Well if it's any relief I had to drain my water tank here in Alabama so it didn't freeze.... we're hoping it's a short winter of a week and half or three only. ;) Being I grew up in midwest and seeing frost in October was normal. I find it hilarious how much people here flip out if the forecast is snow or going to freeze. The local Walmart sold out of 1 lb propane tanks, Buddy heaters, camp stoves all the butane tanks before noon. All the bread, eggs, milk, and toilet paper. ?:giggle:

And to think I'm more worried about running the air conditioner, while you guys are running diesel heaters...... Florida: noting to see here... stay away, go on now
I was thinking about heading down to S. Florida for a couple of weeks, but I remembered that you'll are full up with "snow birds" and crowded. So I stuck around in N. AL. for "the snow & freeze apocalypse" of 2024 . ? I did start my Gladiator and Wrangler moved them around after clearing off ice off.

Oh man that is gold! It reminds me of a similar snowpocolypse in Washington some years ago. On the west side 50 miles SE from Seattle I was living at a friends house for college. There were warnings of snow, but being PNW nobody believed it of course. In a 4 day period we got absolutely dumped on. About 3 feet. Funny enough I have never even seen that much snow here in the valleys in Montana except over a multi-week time period. Anyway, this was before I had the gladiator and just had the old F350 and the TJ. But still had to go to work. So I threw chains on all 4's of the TJ, since the snow is the wet, heavy, icy crap - and went to grab a coworker. All day long people were freaking out. Within hours the bread, onions, and garlic was gone. But all of the other produce wasn't even touched. Even funnier was the 'shelf stable' processed poison was still on the shelves. I would have expected to see some canned soups gone, but they were in full stock. So I grabbed some of that myself just for a power outage. I think we lost power for 2 days - but I was living in my travel trailer with a generator so I was as happy as a clam. But, the amount of people that would literally start fighting over bread, or be throwing fitsts cause they couldn't get out of a parking lot - man it really made me rethink ever wanting to live in a big city again. Everyone lost their marbles. Meanwhile, I was enjoying plowing through 3' of snow on the side streets while cars were lining the ditches of the artillery roads. Even plows were getting stuck. I mean for some it was bad, several elderly who needed electricity ended up dying with power outages - so that was super depressing. But the rest of it, man it was wild..... Just goes to show a 'modern' society is not capable of dealing with the realities of life since they are all jaded from technology that makes everything seem so easy. But when that tech fails to work, or is pushed past capacity by natural events.......

This right here is super awesome! How does it handle the wind and dirt though, are the slides holding up ok?

I am thinking about putting my panels on the roof as well to reduce more height over the tent. Would you mind sharing a link or type of those cross bars you got?

Also. Still waiting for the report on the heater. :time: :)?

Everything has been working flawlessly, thankfully. No issues with the sliders. Working on almost a year with them and many dirt roads and rain.

Here are the bars I used:

It's going to be -40 this weekend up here where I wanted to go. We're going to stay home until it's a little less risky.

Yeah that's cold. We had those temps last week, and my TJ barely started, and the JT was very unhappy. I am hoping it didnt fry either of the new batteries. Good weekend to stay home and keep that fire roaring!

Yeah, this cold snap is passing on now, it was 11° F overnight a night or two. One drain frozen up overnight....... in a dipstick move I didn't check before starting the washing machine and with extra rinse cycle. fixed breakfast n coffee to notice water flowing in floor. :headbang::headbang: A quick use of H.F. heatgun to drain, thawed it out, mopping up water and a fan to dry it up. Now today walking around outside with tee-shirt on to hit high 50s or 60s tomorrow and rain. My past injuries are telling me of weather change, so it will be starting mud season.

So back on topic,
I like the sliding setup for solar panels. I hope you have better performance from ridged panels than I. Good call on sticking around at home in that weather, I've had to be out in that weather to many times not of choice.

It's an unusually warm day in St. Louis. Time to wash off the salt and cobwebs and get it ready for some nice weekend camping coming up.

Lager?!?! I didn't know you could get that out your way. I live about 10 minutes from their brewery in Pottsville, PA.
I grew up there. Maybe we know each other? Ha ha.

Was reading this thread and researching cell boosters. Didn’t expect to see a discussion about Yuengling! BTW still can’t get it here in Colorado, but I’m guessing someday they will push farther west.

Yuengling opened a brewery in Fort Worth.
They have distribution throughout Texas now.
Fort Worth gets its water from the Richland-Chambers Reservoir.
I once went skinny dipping there
but I do not think it affected the flavor.

Resurrecting the thread -

Back in the pre-Covid, or possibly beginning Covid, days, LionEnergy did a deal at our local Costco. Big power bank with 3 solar panel suitcases.

Short story is their original big solar generator had issues that made some of them useless. Ours worked fine. Until a year ago when we took it camping and it wouldn't take a solar charge. Got home, put everything away, plugged it in. Wouldn't take a charge.

Ran into a LionEnergy rep at our new local Costco and told him our issue. He said take it down to the LionEnergy factory/showroom, which is conveniently about 45min away. It had just been "one of those things" in life, but I figured I should get it done since it has a 5 year warranty and I'm close, if not past, the timeframe. I drop it off and leave my name and number, since the team that works on these were at lunch.

At the end of the week I get a text saying my unit is ready for pickup. I was out of town, so I said I'll pick it up Monday. Forget about it on Monday, pick it up Tuesday.

They swapped my old unit for the newer Safari. Probably a rental/demo unit that's been refurbed, but it looks brand new. I'm going from a 2000W unit to 3000W, more plugs, etc.

This was the least hassling experience I've ever had with a product exchange/repair/return. I didn't have to fill out a long RMA form or any questionnaire, no display of receipt, when did I purchase, etc. It was glorious.
