yeah, my sister's friend had a VW beetle. More than one occasion she found it on the cafeteria chairs.

my buddy forgot to put his S10 blazer in park, so I pushed it to the back of the parking lot next to the tennis courts.

it took him a good 30 seconds to realize his truck wasn't stolen.
A college teacher drove a VW bug and parked it next to our building. One day some of us got together, took apart the steel double doors, frame and all, and carried his car into the building, around the corner and down the hall and sat it down outside of his office.
He was not amused.
A meeting of all students was called and he said he didn't care who did it, but he expected his car to be back out in the parking lot by mid-afternoon. It was how he said it, tone of voice, and we could read into it - anything else like that might lead to some really serious stuff.
So we took the doors apart again and returned his car to the parking lot.
That didn't stop us from wiring spark plug testers to tool boxes, turning a guys car sideways in the lot between two other cars, or in one case, carrying a guy car over to an island in the middle of the creek that flowed through the campus.
No wonder my back hurts so bad. He drove a danged 66 Belvedere.

Is there ”backflow” flap in the tank end of the fill hose? Maybe the sugar is now only in the fill hose ?

Diesel does have the flap, not sure is it 100% closed.
Are you referring to the "NOZZLE RESTRICTOR" like all cars have or is there an actual flap somewhere ? Several threads on it... the diesel guys are pulling out the restrictors in order to fit the larger 18 wheel hi-flo diesel nozzles... atleast with mine, since removal, I have to be careful not to overfill... no other flap seems to be affecting this.

It is definitely sugar, I tasted it. Luckily I have not started the engine (3.6) so its in the gas tank only. Full tank. I guess I will have to drop the tank and clean out. Could sifening work? Open to any and all sugestions.
Thanks for your time,
Varooom
To remove the gas yes, but the sugar, depending on how much was put in, you will need to drop it and clean it out.

What cap are you buying?
might do the same myself.
And some hood locks.
There are three pages between your locking gas cap question and this reply so it has probably been answered alredy. Just in case though, I'll paste the Amazon link to the Mopar locking one I bought. You set the lock's pins so that it is unlocked by your JT key. Mine is almost two years old and never any trouble out of it. There is also a great instruction video made by Quadratec that shows you exactly how to put it together.

Not necessarily - did you look at the other posts? Sugar is heavy, will simply drop to the bottom of the fill tube. It may not have even gotten into the tank. That's yet to be seen. He can drop that filler at the bottom by unclamping and inspecting. there's a lot of stuff in the way - and the fill tube goes across horizontally to the bottom of the tank, not into the top like others.

We used to move VW Bugs around too. The one time we went to pick one up by the bumpers. We ripped both bumpers off. Where the bumpers mounted on the body was rusted out. Ooops.

Was working on-site at an oil refinery during their outage. Was on nightshift. We watched a forklift operator out in the parking lot picking up vehicles and moving them around. In about 2 hours, he had moved about 3 dozen vehicles to different spots.

Another time. Watched a crane operator and a crew of riggers move a foreman's truck. They picked it up and moved it to a restricted area from the parking lot.

The stuff we did...... lived through it and really didn't think a whole lot about it at the time.

There was to be some sort of big shindig at our HS and the shop teacher asked us to help rearrange the cars and equipment in the shop. There was a VW bug in there being painted up fancy for some bank - to look like Herbie. Because it was partially masked and getting prepped for paint, getting and driving it wasn't a real option plus it only needed to move over to the right a few inches. We grabbed the rear bumper and lifted and heard a loud CRACK. there went the back glass.

I'm in the Machinist trade. Full time programmer and engineer now but we used to do that back when they still had the high spot with dye like you described. We learned to always checked under our toolbox handles and just about anywhere else the stuff could be hidden.
Crazy daze. ?
A lot of people don't know what Hi-Spot is and never used it. And don't know anything about it. We used to put it in air nozzles. Guy would go to blow his work off with air pressure. But end up spraying that shit everywhere. Someone had put some on a flashlight and then put the flashlight on a urinal in the restroom. The babbit shop foreman took a leak at that urinal. While taking his leak. He spotted the flashlight. So he picked it up to check it out. When he realized what it was. He started to scream. One hand covered in Bluing, and the other handing his dong. He couldn't put his dong away and zip up without getting Bluing on other parts of his body.

The filler door on my wife's Subaru opens the same way ours doors, but it locks with the doors. The tech exists.
The tech existed for as long as I can remember (about 50 years or so ...). It isn't rocket science. Although, maybe for Jeep and Toyota it seems like it ...

I use a Bolt hood lock (Review in my build thread) and a Mopar locking fuel cap keyed to the Jeep key (review in my build thread as well).

It is beyond me how cars come without such incredibly simple tempering prevention. None of these will keep a determined saboteur or thief away, but both will prevent the casual screwing around.
As an option, it's fine - but....... let ME decide if I want my hood to lock or the gas cap locked.
There's pretty much no reason for a locking gas cap on a Gladiator - except to prevent things being added, because as we've discussed in other threads, you can't siphon from these tanks.
And a locking gas cap automatically means a hole in the tank - again, it's been discussed - lose some gas or have to replace a tank?
I'll decide, but it's moot on the JT since it can't be siphoned out.
On other vehicles? No, I don't want a locking cap. Been through that over the years and I hate them (I'd rather they steal gas than punch a hole in the tank)
Adding things to tanks seemed like it was a boomer things - not heard of it in a very long time.

hood lock - I'll decide what I want. I'd lock the hood only to prevent battery thefts around here. The focus of thieves here is parts and pieces, or easy to steal vehicles (according to police reports - almost all were owner-preventable by simply locking the doors or taking keys out or not leaving them running)

Hood locks, yeah, my choice, gas cap/door lock? No thanks, even as an option, I'd not buy it.
