I am not a fan of all this technology and big brother stuff. Imagine my horror when I just got an email showing the exact mileage on my new Gladiator, etc. I don't like this at all. Is there anything I can do to stop this invasion of privacy? Thank you.

I mean I’m with you… but I’m not sure what it buys you to disconnect. Your car’s brain stores all the relevant information with codes and there are certain ones like over-rev that can be very difficult to clear if you’re worried about warranty.

On the flip side…. I had a MY23 WRX that was junk (how I ended up in the Jeep). During one of its many visits to the dealership I was able to track the route of a 110 mile “test drive” to a tourist destination and then a wedding. In that instance it was nice being big brother.

Good luck. As someone who doesn’t trust our tech overlords either I sympathize with you.

Heck. Jeep is even monitoring this site and reading your complaints about them.

They are watching us…….:constantly.

Technically, it is not an Invasion of Privacy. Somewhere, in all the paperwork you signed and the online agreements for your account creation, you gave permission for this to be done. Jeep collects Telematics Data for review and betterment of their products. For the information they do provide to other parties, no personal data is included. The emails to you are part of the service they provide as part of the SiriusXM Guardian subscription, which is necessary to take advantage of the Remote Start and Vehicle Tracking services they offer.

Just remember. When you are off-road somewhere and grenade your differential/tranny/motor you likely won’t get away with having it towed to a road and claiming it happened on the freeways for no reason. lol.

They know by the gps and telematics EXACTLY how and where it happened.

They aren't tracking every move you make in detail. Mileage is part of the reports you get if you have the Sirius Guardian - and they come with a trial, otherwise, you don't get those reports.
I get stuff that has an estimate of my mileage and it's always wrong because I don't drive the miles in a year the average owner does.

If you want to skip all of that stuff, yeah, a CJ5 would do nicely.

On the other hand, I know a real person who was in an accident where there were no witnesses - just himself and the other party who accused him of not stopping, and making an improper left turn. He was sued, ended up in court as the other party and his insurance were fighting for everything the guy had and owned.
GM came forward with information showing that he had stopped, his speed at the time, etc.
It only recorded the last xx seconds - so there was no trip history, but it was enough info to blow the other party away in court.

So I suggest that you tell your mules you have to meet in different locations to receive product and don't use the Jeep.
I always use my older cars to meet with my supplier and 'customers' and don't take a cell phone with me, cash only, meet in areas with no cameras.
No worries.

I have a dash cam for the proof of what happened myself. Not too worried over all, don't like it but also won't be paying to keep the guardian thing up once it expires. Don't have a use for it, the main thing is that tracking in case of being stolen but sounds like it rarely helps or works. The travel link stuff is nice, but I am sure it is WAY too much for what I would use it for.

I'm guessing you haven't yet located the GPS Tracker your dealer installed under the dash.

Driving off road doesn’t void warranties. Scare tactics aren’t productive.

this isn’t a “scare tactic”

this is a fact. Reread what I wrote.

Jeep has and will again deny claims if physical abuse on or off road is detected.

Fordpass provides free remote start for life through the app. Think they aren't tracking drivers?
