Yeah, color me curious, like my cats - I gotta know stuff and see stuff.
Can a snow plow like I have fit a Mojave? Could my front receiver fit Mojave?
The answer to both is - uh, no.
Can't run the skid plate with snow plow brackets, and the receiver would kill the reservoirs.

Did a ton of measuring and picture taking and the one that said "no" to me was this set of pictures -

My Overland with snow plow brackets installed (I remove them for summer to gain clearance back and reduce wind drag)

Red indicates the horn or drop-down of the frame that the plow brackets mount to -

And Mojave -

Ironically, my JT Overland as it sits right now, sits at almost the same heigh as a stock Mojave. I measured to door sills, to frame points, to rear receiver, etc. and if you put my tires on the Mojave, it would sit exactly the same if not a tad lower. Some points measure the same, others are only about 1/4" difference from frame to ground. Rear receiver is the same 18" from ground to the bottom of the inside of the receiver on both trucks.
My plow says my brackets are for 22" or lower, and I'd need different mounting brackets for 22"+
My Overland measures 22.25" from the ground to the point they measure on the frame - the Mojave? About 1/8" difference - heck add a winch to the front and they'd sit exactly the same.

I just got curious as to why the plow places say no to Rubicon or Mojave and what the heck the real differences were.
Now I know.

Yeah, I had to see what a 2024 Mojave "green" interior looked like in person, among other things. Was there making an appointment for our JLU defroster recall and the park sense goofiness and Scott said "come on out and measure and take pictures all you want".

Sorry, Scott - the shock reservoirs are definitely a problem, no way for the front receiver or my plow mount. (not to mention needing to rob a bank or something, maybe meet up at the border and move some more product for some fast cash)

easy solution, just move the reservoirs
Yeah, but to where? There's not a lot of space under there, and to avoid smacking tires into them on sharp turns, keep them protected. I looked and looked and walked away scratching my head - where in the heck could they possibly go and be safe?
The skid plate has to come off for the plow mounts leaving that area open.

You know how it goes - sometimes you can look at something for an hour and not see the solution aimed right at your nose. (referring back to the ambient light dimmer missing on the 24 - Hootbro said it's gone in the 23s as well. Holy crap, we have a 23 and I never noticed that???)

They could mount to the back of the receiver assembly, that practically where they are now and the receiver would protect them much the same way the skid plate does.

Darn you guys anyway.........

Well, the hoses won't be long enough for moving to the rear of the receiver.

Gotta clear this up-hill driveway for visitors not so fortunate to have Jeeps, the UPS guy who has literally been stuck in front of our garage (the low part of the driveway) and others. You should see the struggling.
It's a given - anyone who comes down our driveway may feel like they are at Hotel California.

and gotta clear the drive out back (for LP delivery to my shop in the winter)

Us - we just go. but then - getting groceries to and from, etc. We ain't spring chickens.

jave springs would be too soft for a plow anyway, but you could swap springs.

This is just plain silly, everyone knows Mojaves are only good out in the desert in the sand, and as for why Rubicons and Mojaves can’t fit plows is simple that would be for work and all us Ruby and Mojave guys are about fun, work is for the Sports and Overlands, cause them guys are not all about fun. The Overland crowd got so boring and all about work that Jeep had to drop that trim option!
Sorry Bill I love ya man!
Mojaves do fit the front hitch , there are guys here with them, there are install threads, the worse thing to do it is trimming the skid plate, notching the res. Bracket takes about a minute.
You do have me at an Overland sits as tall as a Mojave which is an inch taller then the Rubicon. That I did not realize, I will say the Overland rides better on the road and assume the High Altitude rides better yet…..Jack
PS: thanks for the post Bill it has been fun.

Can't tell - is that the Curt receiver?
Dayum, forgot you were a Mojave person.

I should have clarified - MY Overland sits the same height as a Mojave.
I have boosted the rear with 3/4" spring spacers and the front is about 1" higher than a stock Overland. That suggests that a stock Overland is really only about 1" lower than stock Mojave.

Dear god I would never think to try and plow snow with a Jeep. I used to live in MN and would just always have a shitty rusty truck for plowing snow. Interesting read though.
These, at least mine with the LSD and so on, make great plow trucks. Easy as heck to maneuver with the tight turns, sure-footed with GOOD tires on the corners, and it does help a bit with Selec-Trac t-case.
Mine is a dream to plow with. It handles it with ease.
It's likely no worse than taking it into the places some members take their Jeeps for weekend fun - except I can't get rock scrapes and damage and no risk of rolling it.

Thanks for that - it would stink as an Iowa truck, especially in the winter snow and our extreme summer humidity.

Thank goodness it's not snow rated.
