I work for no man.
Thanks. I'm keeping mine. Just checking to see what would change if I was ordering today.

IMO Jeep is digging a grave for itself. The lack of flexible options (forcing packages and bundles to get something - or not allowing certain options with others) is totally ignorant. Then they jack the prices up like everything is made of gold, it just won't fly in volume. As many have stated in this thread there are many changes in how Jeep is offering and pricing vehicles which just push people away.
If anything serious happens to my 21 JT Mojave I won't buy another Jeep. I have had a series of them since I first bought my new 1991 Cherokee, but this is clearly my last. I won't go for the obnoxious pricing and forced options. It is sad.
I think the only light at the end of the tunnel is that in a few years all of our older model Jeeps will be skyrocketing in resale pricing. A Jeep in decent shape will sell for a good price and likely still be $30k-$50K less than the future new Jeeps. Jeep management has an ego problem and a lack of understanding of their customer base.

I'm not saying you are wrong, or that I don't agree on the packages bit - I really surely do. When you can't even get a stupid tonneau cover without spending another grand on top of that, along with other dumb groupings, all I can say is - this is what Jeep has done for years with the Grand Cherokee. You pick your level and it's got the options you want. The most we've had to add to a Grand Cherokee is something as simple as a tow package. All else was in the level we chose.
it was simple for the WK2 - pick the level, it's already got everything, but it leaves a lot to be desired for something like a JL/JLU or JT which are almost like legos - pick your basic package and build it from there with the blocks you want.

I am still offering 4 percent under invoice on mostly everything with tread lightly or other affiliates rewards.. plus tax, license and 85 doc fee on the 24 JL and JT's.. no other adds or accessories. Call me for specific pricing though on Wrangler 392's or any of the Charger/Challengers. All of my Ram Trucks except TRX are at 4 percent below invoice with affiliates rewards such as treadlightly membership or employer sponsored affiliates.

You can reach me at [email protected] or [email protected]

I have to buy a new mid size pickup the end of this year. A well appointed Mojave X with options I want is just under 70k. A GMC Canyon AT4X loaded with MORE options than I want is under 58k. I know the new CEO of jeep just announced MSRP price reductions but come on man.

Two different brands two different clients.

To get it to be a close apples to apples comparison to a Mojave X you’d have to get the aev upgrade package which is another 10k.

This would give the skid plates, aux switches, steel front and rear bumpers, and a couple other things if I’m reading it correctly.

The problem with jeeps is they took away that entry model. The Mojave should have certain options like other entry level trucks but they don’t offer them forcing people to go up to a X

Either way, when you option them out apples to apples, most of the brands are very similar in pricing. Give or take a little here and there because nothing will ever line up perfectly.

How are you getting just under 70K?
I've been digging out of curiosity what it would take to replace my truck if it was totaled or stolen and it would be OVER 70K
Add the tonneau cover, automatic, sill protectors and things to match my current Overland in a Mojave - over 70K, IF I could get the soft, roll-up tonneau cover without having to choose some other stupid package, it would fall just barely under 70K so with tax, license and doc fees it would fall over 70K.
Jeep Gladiator 2024 Gladiator Build & Price Configurator is Finally Live! 1709391334568

Having to spend another grand on a sunrider just to get the tonneau cover throws it over 70K otherwise it would be about 1K under the above price. So - right at 70K.

Ouch.

the one in our local area is under 70K but is missing tonneau cover and some other options I want - but has the $1,000 wheel options - I can't see paying a grand just for a different set of factory wheels. (but I do happen to really like the looks of those optional wheels, DAMN.)

MSRP is still out of control, my 2021 had an MSRP of $58,485 with the diesel motor and trans package. Some of my options look to be standard now: tow package, aux switches, and the proximity keyless entry. However, the bed cover is now tied into a $$$$ BS package. Those were my only options alongside a black hard top.

If I were to equip a JT today, getting the only available 3.6L gasser and automatic transmission package (a $4,000 markup back in 2021) with the same options or as close as I can without adding the bed cover tied into a package, the configurator shows an MSRP of $58,985. That also isn't including the standard connected radio, which of course, is tied into the technology package worth an extra $2,300.

In 2021 the 3.6 gasser and standard 7 inch carplay/android auto radio and no tonneau cover would have put my MSRP to just about $52,000. That's roughly a 12% bump in cost for fewer features.

Wait until 2025, the 2024's are going to be at 30% below MSRP at this point.

Am I reading that right? Max tow is gone?

Glad I bought a '23 while they were "cheap."

I show a Mojave X with a color upgrade (Anvil) and automatic trans is $67,985. I did not consider other options as the X has a lot. I might consider the spray bed liner and that would bring the total to $68,540

As said.... Ignore that site. Max tow is still an option that site is wrong. My dealer says he sees it.

Ok, thanks.

It doesn't matter, I just bought mine a few weeks ago, but for S&Gs I tried to build a Sport S and there was no Max Tow option that I saw.

I also noticed that they've consolidated options and eliminated some as well.

They sure have - really mixed and messed things up.
But when someone mentioned they could not build a Sport S with max tow, I was already talking to my local dealer about other stuff and asked- is that still a thing? And he pulled up his screen and said it's still there on the dealer order screen.

Hard to imagine them getting rid of that. They'd lose all bragging rights about best in class towing and payload for sure.

So Willys is the one to get / best value for non hardcore… especially with the new grille already being mostly black. Tho you gotta be able to stomach black wheels (I can’t) or get some takeoffs.
Don't forget rear lockers like a Mojave... THAT alone will draw some people in. You are the exception on not likeing the black wheels. You will have NO problem trading I'm sure...

I’m 40 and suspect anyone my age or older likes more silver leaning than black wheels. I lived through hub caps and the “ugly black wheels” you had beneath. I don’t like girls in skinny jeans either, ha.

Good call on the locker / limited slip.

Hard to get past the price either way, tho.
