Im the opposite of you guys. In my JKU I hate the V6.
1) its gets terrible milage with a lift and bigger tires (i have the AEV 2.5" with BFG KO2 in 35"). I just completed a 1,000 mile trip from Boise, ID to Zion National Park and back over the last 3 days and averaged 13.1 MPG. Less then 300 miles on a tank.
2) At hwy speeds it sucks. Plain and simple. Around town it dosen't bother me one bit or on a trail its great. But if you do any serious traveling in it for long periods of time it plain sucks. This might have been fixed with the 8-speed trans since it has more gearing, but based on the fuel econ improvements Im not expecting much. If your looking for a Overlanding rig this and range above are both serious concerns.
