Won't happen with stock shocks, no extensions and a lift. If the shocks weren't slamming to the bottom of the stroke when stock, they won't slam to the bottom of the stroke with a 1-2" lift. The bump stops protect your shocks from slamming all the way down.
They also prevent coil bind.
But the most important function is protecting the shocks.
ONLY if you add extensions is that possible.
I've been running the -20 Synergy springs - on a JT with steel bumper and winch, I do not get 2", not even close. On a good day it has SETTLED down to about a 1.25" lift or so.OP, factory shocks should be okay with just the + 1" springs.
If you add a 3/4" spacer, then you probably want to get shock extensions.
Before the power steps it was sitting at 1.5" lift. Expect them to settle about 1/4" after a year.
One a Gladiator with steel bumper and winch (OVERLAND) their -10 springs lifted my truck not even close to 1" even before the power steps and other weight. So I took those out and put in the 20s
For reference - mine is overland with steel front bumper, heavy Badland Apex winch, RSE power steps. No shock extensions. 3/4" spacers in the rear, Synergy -20 springs in the front. No shock extensions, have never bottomed out but then I don't do logging roads at 40 mph.
