The bump stops protect your shocks from slamming all the way down.

They also prevent coil bind.

But the most important function is protecting the shocks.
Won't happen with stock shocks, no extensions and a lift. If the shocks weren't slamming to the bottom of the stroke when stock, they won't slam to the bottom of the stroke with a 1-2" lift.
ONLY if you add extensions is that possible.

OP, factory shocks should be okay with just the + 1" springs.
If you add a 3/4" spacer, then you probably want to get shock extensions.
I've been running the -20 Synergy springs - on a JT with steel bumper and winch, I do not get 2", not even close. On a good day it has SETTLED down to about a 1.25" lift or so.
Before the power steps it was sitting at 1.5" lift. Expect them to settle about 1/4" after a year.

One a Gladiator with steel bumper and winch (OVERLAND) their -10 springs lifted my truck not even close to 1" even before the power steps and other weight. So I took those out and put in the 20s

For reference - mine is overland with steel front bumper, heavy Badland Apex winch, RSE power steps. No shock extensions. 3/4" spacers in the rear, Synergy -20 springs in the front. No shock extensions, have never bottomed out but then I don't do logging roads at 40 mph.

ShadowsPapa's comments make sense and the OP ordered 2" bump stop spacers so I think this has been put to rest.

I just installed 8863-30 in my Gladiator so have done some back ground work also. Synergy Spring's website clarifies why the 2" bump stop spacing is required: "Min bump stop spacing listed is the minimum amount of bump stop spacing required to prevent the springs from going into coil bind. Do not use less bump stop spacing."

Got my synergy 1" springs , bump stops, shocks installed.
Check the drivers side when I went for pick up. Looked great. Passenger side I didn't look at since the lot was crammed. Got to work and looked at Passenger side. Spring has terrible bow in it . Drivers side perfect.
Pics of both sides .
Think they spun the upper spring isolator 180°??? I know it has a taper. Taking it back in the morning.
Any ideas ?

My upper isolators didn't have a taper - the top of the spring - the stock spring, is flat, and if you install a 3/4" Daystar spring spacer it goes on top of the factory spring between spring and spacer and it's an evenly cut piece. Can't see how that part is tapered when the top of the factory spring is flat on top and the Daystar spring spacers are flat top and bottom.
Did they install the Synergy bottom pads and remove the factory spring support from the axle?

I'd like to see where the taper is on a top spring pad. If there's a taper, it HAS to be on the top of the isolator as the bottom of that isolator is totally flat.

Upper isolator has two alignment nipples that should poke through the top of the steel mount bracket. If not, they got it miss aligned.

Like @ShadowsPapa mentioned, the bottom factory isolators should have been removed and replaced with the Synergy provided ones.

Synergy stops ate on the bottom , on both.
I'm wondering if the tip isolators come out easy or hard. If they fell out and put back in they could be in 180° backwards . I saw that on utube about the tabs for orientation.
I still can't post a pic it's site side cause everytimeci post it keeps saying I have things uploading.
Thanks Hoot

Those alignment nippled are a pain in the pooper........... when swapping rear springs or installing spacers, etc. - the dang top isolators fall out and are tough to get those aligned in the holes again.
I've gotten to the point where I just plain pull them clear down, use 3M 8001 super weatherstrip adhesive and GLUE the darned things in place. Otherwise, putting a spring in by yourself can be a real problem when those top isolators keep dropping down.
Get them aligned and glue them in. Problem solved.

Yikes - they messed something up for sure.
Synergy springs just don't do that if properly installed. They even guarantee it.
Mine have been in for a while (maybe a year and a half or more??) and are as straight and true as ever.

Put your hand on top of the metal part the upper spring isolator sits in. Towards the back you should feel the rubber alignment pins sticking through. If you don't feel them, they are in wrong...
