So I have a 21 Sport S that came with the Mopar lift and 35s. I am in need of new tires and found a good deal on a set of 37s which I am going to anyways. My question is will they fit under the Sport Fenders? I'm sure I need bump stop extensions to do so because at full flex the 35s are almost touching the fender. I'm looking at fender options but after paying for the tires I'd rather give it a rest for a moment before spending the money on them.

Also wondering if the factory brakes will hold up with 37s or should I get some bigger brakes to accompany them?

I already regeared for 37s originally after I bought it so 37s are going on it one way or another. Even if I just have to run no fenders off road.

I've never found my brakes lacking with 37s on. I wouldn't tow with em tho.

I never liked the feeling of the factory brakes, so I upgraded to the PowerBrake system. Huge improvement.

I've noticed they work "fine" with my 35s, but I really have to mash it down and use the transmission to slow down on highways. I'll look into the PowerBrake system though.

When I went from 35's to 37's, I had a set of chopped Sport flares. For me the fitment was too tight, my tires were very obviously going to hit the outer edge of the fender. Now a big part of that is the fact that I have aftermarket wheels with more offset. You MIGHT have better luck on the stock wheels, but it's going to be a tight fit regardless.

Ended up going to a set of Rugged Ridge High Line flares to make room. As for the brakes, they feel fine.

You answered my question and more lol.

I do have a set of aftermarket wheels with a decent bit of back spacing. Those are actually the fenders I was looking at. Those and the Quadratec Baja.
How do you like them? Are they worth it for the price vs something like the Baja?
I really wanted Rubicon fenders and was going to chop them but finding the rears for a decent price is a feat on its own.

I love the look of those Rugged Ridges with the firecracker paint. Any issues with clearance in the rear with those? Also hoping to get that snorkel on mine later this year. Does it change the sound you get out of the engine quite a bit?

Sorry for all the follow up questions lol.

No worries! I don't mind questions.

For your questions on the flares, I'm linking the write up I did about 2 years ago.

Short version is they're a great price and worth it! $750 bucks and you get 4 fenders, rear liners (you need to source front liners, or trim your stock ones), and LED switchbacks. Pretty hard to beat, and they're holding up great, especially since I have the truck in the southwest sun nearly 24/7, just treat them with 303 protectant spray about once or twice a month. Minimal fading. Zero clearance issues with my fenders, no rubbing at all.

If you need liners, Bestop has these on sale right now.

For the snorkel, I personally don't notice much of a difference, although I didn't pay attention to the intake sound before. I mainly bought it to get my intake out of the dust as best as I could, zero intentions of relying on it for water crossings, just isn't well sealed enough. For the price, it might be worth it to get one of the ebay clones, the snorkel is fading and warping quite a bit more than my flares, and I got them around the same time.

Interesting. I have a 21 JTRD and the brakes are incredible on 37s, stop on a dime no issues with no brake fade or spongy pedal.

I will definitely take a look at that. My only concern with eBay is the filter. I'm assuming it just has the one filter in the box?

I was almost ready to buy metal fenders because of the fade. I live in NC and it sits outside 24/7. I see all those JK's with faded fenders and bumpers around here.

I'm gonna jump on those bestop liners though. That's a good price for a metal liner.

Did you need to extend the bumpstops at all? Or is it enough of a difference between the fender and tire that the current ones worked?

The snorkel uses the factory stock air filter, it actually attaches to the original intake, so no worries there. You can even use aftermarket drop in filters if you want.

As for the bumpstops, I didn't change anything about my suspension. You gain about 4 inches of clearance to the top of the fender VS a chopped sport fender.

And as far as fading goes, I believe the 303 protectant really helped. After 2 years, they just started to have a bit of fading, so I restored them with Meguiars back to black, but I do plan on bedlining them in the future.

Bed lining them would be sweet. I was thinking of taking the carpet out and bed lining the inside of the cab.

Thanks! I guess I'll go ahead and pick up the fenders with the tires. XT has the geolandars for $380 right now and it's about that time to get some new ones!

I just got done installing my Quadratec Baja Fenders today. I obviously can’t speak to the longevity and durability since it’s a new install, but I will say I was sorely disappointed in the overall product for the price. I would suggest going with other options if anybody has good experience. It will give me my clearance and they look good IMO, but I’m not sure I will buy anything Quadratec branded again. Happy to give details if interested, but hoping I just got a bad batch.

Can I ask what the issues were? I've bought a few Tactic items like my bumper and winch from Quadratec. I think they're the same brand. The bumper is ok for the price. Definitely will be upgrading eventually after the finish flakes off and it rusts a bit more. The winch, I used for the first time this week since I've had it in over a year. Pulled me right out.

Some of the holes didn’t line up, even with flexing, pulling and pushing. I had to bore out a couple using a drill as well. Mine had a decent scratch on one of them. Obviously not a big deal as they’ll get scratches, but not something I necessarily want when buying new. They require modification of the original turn signals, which I knew going into it but looking back i think this would deter me with the hopes of finding rubicon fenders down the road. The FAQ states you can use the rear the OEM inner fenders, but it would take heavy modification to make them work. Like I said, they look good IMO, just wish I would have spent the extra money and bought OE Rubicon/Mojave.
