I wouldn’t do things in that order, but that’s clearly not what you want to hear.

Part of the benefit from forums like this is that you get to learn from folks that have already been there, done that, dealt with the adverse impact to ā€˜X’ (whichever aspect of drive-ability was impacted) and share their feedback ā€œfor the price of on the house.ā€

There’s nothing like learning from your own mistakes though, so go for it if that’s your preferred course of action.

Edit: Hypothetical question: What happens if an unforeseen expense pops-up after you install the 37’s and you end up having to drive it like that for an extended period of time before you’re able to re-gear and lift it?
Yeah It was just a thought. Then I looked at my jeep and said nope it ain’t going to happen. Close now with the tires on it now.

I would never throw 37s on with 3.73s. Maybe if I new I would have them in a couple months but no longer. Any hill now and I’m in 6th and 7th with a 34 inch tire.

I love 4.88 with my 35s. May go to 37s. You could run a 4.56 with 35s. Most guys on here run 5.13 with 37s. If you have the diesel you can just run a 37.
Other factors include how much off road shit you have on your truck.. 150 pounds of rock sliders, plus steel bumpers....plus winch....plus rack and tent, gear, big dog. My 1911.... all adds up.

Altitude. I'm at 6,100 feet.

Drive from the coast to visit us in Colorado..... You'll think your JT is busted. Imogene is 13,100 feet above sea level. Can't wait to take mine to Tennessee this summer. Will feel like a hot rod.

Are you gonna tow?

Find someone with the tires you want to run that has done a regear and drive their rig. Especially if their build is similar to yours.

Lots of charts out there.

Yeah I hear ya. I suppose if one isn't towing and doesn't give a darn about gas mileage that is that. I know the thread is about running with no lift but once you have a lift on there with some higher clearance flares and proper spacing, doesn't seem like too much of an issue for mainly light off-road and mostly on road use. What re-gear would you recommend?
