If you're looking for an RV type campground, we stayed at Portal RV Resort and it was in a great location and a nice place in general.

If you want to stay in an established campground, the campgrounds along Hwy 128 are nice, like Goose Island and Big Bend. Note that these are run by the Forest Service (I think?) so they have pit toilets and aren’t like a KOA-style campgrounds. But they are along the river.

I’ve also stayed at the Moab KOA once and that was nice.

Other than that, there is a TON of dispersed camping there as well, which is what I normally do these days. I know you’re coming from the East Coast and public land where dispersed camping is allowed isn’t very common there.

I second Sun Country in town. Decent size RV lots, trees for shade, close walking distance to restaurants, etc. Which after a day on the trails it is good to get out and stretch your legs.

There are trails north and south of town, so really most places will be a drive of some sort.

Sunsets Of Moab is a small (guys back yard) with 5 spots, it's nice. I stayed there last year, will again. It's off the free way a ways and quiet with great views. BUT it's not an RV park +- to that. Full hook ups 50 amp.

I stayed at Moab Rim this year.

It's on the freeway, closer to town, but on the free way. If you go here get a spot to the back of the park, the pull throughs are at the front and there is some road noise. Nice place typical rv park, full hook ups 50 amp.

You pay to camp? In Moab?
I am in Moab 2-3 times a year and one trip is usually a club run and we always camped northwest of town, for free, but sadly that area was closed recently by the Bureau of Land Management. Several other dispersed "free" camping areas have also been closed as well, so free camping is becoming less of an option there. If you don't like that, I recommend checking out Blue Ribbon Coalition www.sharetrails.org they are the organization that is leading the fight to reverse these closures.

I stayed here when I was there last summer:

They have at least 2 locations in Moab. I stayed at the one in town. Easier to walk to restaurants. Still pretty quiet at night.

They normally run deals for weeknight stays but you do have to click on specific links on their site.

Good luck and have a blast!!
I agree.
We stayed at the Downtown location a few years ago and would stay there again. Quite, close to store and restaurants, clean bathrooms and showers.

Last trip was without a camper and we stayed at St Daines Cabins in the Big Horn Cabin. Was clean and the hot tub was used almost every night. We rode our dual sport motorcycles most days with exception of one excursion into the back country of Arches where we found a fun trail/road past Delicate Arche.
St Daines is now Red Desert RV Park, not sure how that's changed things. It's also a little south in Spanish Valley.
