Down by the collector area?

Organize 'em - pretty easy to tell if one is missing that way ->

That doesn't cover the sockets and wrenches in the wood shop upstairs, or in the garage. Those are far less organized.

Yep, right where the pipes start to merge.

Back in '99, I scored a 570 piece Craftsman set from Sears Outlet for just $39. All USA made and they came in a box that weight atleast 60lbs. I still has all the pieces and using them. Other than that, the rest are Proto.
I got a fair size Craftsman set in 1975 really cheap for winning the Plymouth Troubleshooting Contest. Good thing as it was enough struggle paying my way through college, let alone buy all the tools necessary.
I soon outgrew the 2 drawer top cabinet but to this day still use the roller cabinet. The collection grew from there. I have the original 2 drawer top cabinet in my garage now holding odds and ends of tools there just to keep from running to the shop for everything.

I think i still have the letter from Plymouth saying I could go pick up my tool set at Frank Alston Motors - the then Plymouth dealer.

And this is the little breaker bar from about 1973 that broke my JT's body bolt - still using it and still breaking stuff with it. I guess that's why it's called a breaker bar? It breaks things?

I participated in the Plymouth Troubleshooting Contest in 1986. Nice to meet a winner. I wasn’t.

I've not met or known any other participants, really. I know they have to be out there, but you just don't hear of or from them.
86 had to be one of the last as I heard they discontinued it one point to save money.

@ShadowsPapa I used to work with a top notch GM tech (GM used to ship prototypes to him to de-bug) who literally would clear his tools off his bench into whatever drawer was open. Absolutely no organization in his box. If you asked for any given tool, he would tell you what drawer and exactly where in the drawer it was. He has eidetic memory. Said no one ever asked to borrow tools that way.
Steve is brilliant and designed the astronomy telescope at the local college. Too bad he was no longer allowed on campus, too many pranks when he was there.

There are a few things I can "point to" like if my wife askes where something is, or a few things around the house or shop for some reason I know their exact position somewhere, but that type of memory or ability? Naw, mine is more ADHD memory - like the original IBM PC had. Slow and holds only about 5 bits or so.

I warrantied 2 Borla headers for cracking. I couldn’t get them to hold up. Third replacement I tried was defective. The bottom collector was pointing straight at the block after it was bolted up. That was a pretty disappointing discovery after tearing it apart.

Jeep Gladiator Why Harbor Freight Sockets Are The Best donor-jeep 041

Neighbor welded that up for me about 2011. At the time he asked if I wanted the collector in the same spot, or turned. Stupid me said - same spot is fine.
and that left me with an exhaust pointed directly into the front differential pinion support for my Eagle.
So I had to build a modified pinion support and get creative on the exhaust -
