Heartbreaking... My trunk was damaged in transit... Is it totaled?

Shipping from Boston to LA. I received the photos from the transportation company this morning, details have not been provided yet. This is a nightmare and I feel so bad. Please give me some advice.

Shipping via Montway. They filed a claim for me and waiting for the carrier's update.

Both front A Pillars are smoked, structural damage.

Bad/good news, you haven't taken delivery......so it will be the insurance of the transporter to replace it. Sadly, I'm sure you waited long enough already and now you have to wait even more

Sorry that looks pretty bad. Were you taking delivery new? Or were you having this delivered used? Either way it sucks. Just trying to figure out the Boston to LA. This must be a private carrier? Please let us know when you find out what they are going to do.

They owe it to you to make it right, whatever that means to YOU. Give them the opportunity to make it right, but I would be ready to get a lawyer involved. Unfortunately a lot of insurances will try to take the minimum route instead of the right route. I hope you have a quick and painless deal with them, start gathering all pertinent info: receipts or proof of purchase for all mods done, replacement cost for the vehicle, etc. I would press for replacement, even if that means a vehicle that is more than what you paid for yours. I don’t know if you’ll be able to get that, but that’s what i would press hard for.

you getting a new 24' rubicon my guy. Transport insurance bout to pay out. looks like they didn't plan the route according to their height and hit a bridge or some shit.

That is 100% totaled. Puddle is right, that looks like they didn't account for height and smoked a overpass. That is quite a lot of structural damage to the roll cage, etc.

I wouldn't take delivery of that personally... the value loss on it if you ever try to sell it down the road if they somehow manage to fix that.

Not your responsibility. Refuse delivery, file a claim with the transport company, take it from there. I also agree it might be good to have a lawyer in mind.

you tell them you wont take delivery and want it dropped off at a collision center of your choice. Collision center will tell everyone cost to repair and then the shipping co insurance will have to either pay for repairs or replace the vehicle. remember you hold all the power in this scenario, they fucked up and owe YOU. If they won't work with you to get you the compensation needed to purchase a new truck, GO GET A LAWYER. They at a min must pay off any outstanding loan, equity and mod shelf value.

The carrier just called me and wanted to deliver my trunk but I refused. I said I would tell Montway a collision center of my choice. I want them go talk to Montway not with me directly. Is that right?
