The carrier just called me and wanted to deliver my truck but I refused. I said I would tell Montway a collision center of my choice. I want them go talk to Montway not with me directly. Is that right?you tell them you wont take delivery and want it dropped off at a collision center of your choice. Collision center will tell everyone cost to repair and then the shipping co insurance will have to either pay for repairs or replace the vehicle. remember you hold all the power in this scenario, they fucked up and owe YOU. If they won't work with you to get you the compensation needed to purchase a new truck, GO GET A LAWYER. They at a min must pay off any outstanding loan, equity and mod shelf value.
I wouldn’t. I’d go with a professional collision center. 4x4 shops aren’t body shops usually.Guys. I just moved here in Irvine, California. Can any 4x4 shop count as a collision center? I think that the offroad shop knows the condition of my car better.
I've found a few good collision centers nearby. Should I call them and let them know I have a damaged car that needs an inspection? After they evaluate it, what happens next? Do I take the car home, or will it stay there since it can't be driven? Also, I still have stuff in my car.I wouldn’t. no you still want communication between all 3. but accept nothing from them and sign nothing until all the cards are on the table and you can make a decision from there. The carrier just called me and wanted to deliver my truck but I refused. is this your first ever vehicle totaled rodeo? The collision center keeps it from here on out. You may call them and tell them your truck is on its way. they will do everything past that. You may also go get your personal belonging from the vehicle. odds are most of the talk will be between the collision center and the shipping co insurance company. the insurance company will reach out to you when the collision center is done. They will say whether they want to repair or total. Do not accept repair or a settlement less than the value of the vehicle or loan amount of the truck plus equity if your still making payments. If they won't give you a fair settlement, go get a lawyer. If the truck is paid off you should be walking away with like 55k give or take in your pocket. you may also notify your insurance and they can argue on your behalf.I've found a few good collision centers nearby. I contacted with Montway. You need to contact the Carrier and find out what to do. Just refusing delivery over the phone is going to cause other issues.
You need to meet with the delivery company, take pictures of the vehicle, and write on their paperwork that delivery is refused due to damage that occurred during transit.
Does sending my truck to the collision center mean that I have accepted delivery? Just a different address? I'm not sure if it's Montway file insurance or carrier file insurance.is this your first ever vehicle totaled rodeo? The collision center keeps it from here on out. he's moving. so he had the truck transported to his new home state. We don't know all of the details. Did you purchase the truck, meaning, sign all of the documents and then have a private transport company deliver it to you?
Did the seller set up the transport?
I would not accept it or get involved. If you make a decision on where to get it inspected/repaired, you are now involved.
If you did sign the documents for it and have it insured, let them decide what to do with it.
Or can we assume this is your truck and you have paid a transport company to relocate it for you? Let the transport company deal with it.
