Jesus, probably one of the most confusing threads of who, what and where and took three pages of replies to get somewhat figured out.
My advice, call YOUR insurance and ask for their advice. I do not think you can just refuse delivery outright and expect them to go away and the shipper is solely going to sort this out for you. YOUR insurance if it is a tier 1 insurance company, should be acting as your advocate and help you sort this out and working with the shipping company's insurance.
When all said and done, it is going to be handled like any other insurance claim and if totaled out (probably will), you are only entitled to current market value. Negotiating for anything else is nonsense and this is not a "I win a minty new Gladiator" lottery.
I would be stressed also, but breathe, calm down and work it one thing at a time.
