Jesus, probably one of the most confusing threads of who, what and where and took three pages of replies to get somewhat figured out.

My advice, call YOUR insurance and ask for their advice. I do not think you can just refuse delivery outright and expect them to go away and the shipper is solely going to sort this out for you. YOUR insurance if it is a tier 1 insurance company, should be acting as your advocate and help you sort this out and working with the shipping company's insurance.

When all said and done, it is going to be handled like any other insurance claim and if totaled out (probably will), you are only entitled to current market value. Negotiating for anything else is nonsense and this is not a "I win a minty new Gladiator" lottery.

I would be stressed also, but breathe, calm down and work it one thing at a time.

I wish you the best.

Still has not been established yet

1) Do you own it? Aka, is it Titled/tagged and insured in your name?
2) Was it new/used and waiting for it to be delivered? If its not titled/tagged to you...this is a different story

He already answered this when he said he had personal belongings in the vehicle. He owns it. He moved coast to coast and paid to have it shipped.

Even when he first mentioned having a private shipper, it struck me as a post sold delivery situation regardless.

Ive been through this before with a much more expensive vehicle.

DO NOT GET IN THE VEHICLE.
DO NOT TAKE THE KEYS.

DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING.

Go wherever it is and take pics then contact the carriers insurance company and then reverse the charge for shipping through your credit card company.

Do you have your own insurance? Is it comprehensive (if you financed the truck, it would be).

Call your insurance company and tell them what happened - this is why you pay your premium! Don't try to go this alone, let the two insurance companies fight it out. Don't accept the delivery, don't sign anything, don't accept a check for anything less than full market value for a replacement truck plus any other costs you incurred, such as needing a rental car while you get a new Jeep. As soon as you accept a payment and sign for it, you are signing away any future claims and saying "this is good, this is everything I'm owed".

This.

Your insurance will also fight for you against another insurer.

And lawyer up. It will be worth it to ensure they make you financially whole.

I've found a few good collision centers nearby. Should I call them and let them know I have a damaged car that needs an inspection? After they evaluate it, what happens next? Do I take the car home, or will it stay there since it can't be driven? Also, I still have stuff in my car.
I haven’t read through this entire thread yet but I would recommend that you get legal advice before doing anything with this truck. Right now it’s the transport companies problem. If you take possession it becomes your problem.
basically they just bought a wreck gladiator and owe you a replacement.
the situation sucks but it could be worse if you take responsibility for their mistake.

I thought that too but he said in one of his posts that he still has belongings in the car 🤷‍♂️
I missed that one. That changes things quite a bit from what I thought was a new vehicle purchase. I would still recommend legal advice though just to make sure you get your ducks in a row correctly

Depends who you ask
Looks like the transport driver took this route to LA.
Woah that’s incredible. I love the flashing sign telling the drivers there overheight and must turn. I can just imagine some lardass driver seeing that and thinking it’s none of your business what I weigh I’m going this way dammit. Crunch!

Sorry to be the first to say it........its totaled.

Both front A Pillars are smoked, structural damage.

Bad/good news, you haven't taken delivery......so it will be the insurance of the transporter to replace it. Sadly, I'm sure you waited long enough already and now you have to wait even more
This.
I normally hate 'is my vehicle totaled' stuff on the internet, but this is structural damage.
I'd refuse it. Especially if it was supposed to be brand new - not a used vehicle.

someone will fix it and rebuild it, but if I ordered a new truck and saw that - I'd say you guys owe me an undamaged, unrepaired truck.

I also hate the talk of "reports" showing damage, but good grief, this one is so darned obvious!

The trucks are too tall, not overweight.
