I believe most would consider the factory fox shocks a down grade from the rubicons unless you got the mojave reservoir shocks. That said it's 2 bolts and super simple to swap a shock. 18mm if I remember right but don't quote me. You'll need to torque then when finished so a torque wrench, socket set, and a wrench to hold the nut on the bottom is all you need. Is recommend an impact to make it quick and easy but not necessary.

^^^ That is all you need to know, including the consensus that the red shocks are better than the Fox shocks that came on the 2020/21 JTR's.

I've never run them, but many complain they are under dampened and they are prone to leaking.

Considering you already bought them though, it will probably only take you an hour, maybe 2 tops, to swap them out - and you get to work on your Jeep a little.

Swap them, drive them around - find out for yourself if you like how they ride. If you don't like them, swap them back! If you do like them and they eventually leak, swap them back. No downsides for you my friend!

yes.

It would be cheaper and better off to buy a Fox sticker off their website.

Fox should stick to MX and SxS stuff.

Opinions vary. I liked the Foxs on my 20 more then the Reds on my 23, but I prefer small bump compliance. People that don't like the foxes prefer a stiffer ride control. It's all subjective. Give them a try and see how you feel. Can always re-sell them if you don't like them.

I swapped Rubi Springs and Rubi Fox shocks on to my Overland and was very unimpressed with the shocks. I drove them for about a year and eventually I just couldn't take the pogo sticking rear end anymore. Besides that there was also a lot of body roll around corners and going down the highway felt like you were riding a wave sometimes. My kids in the back would complain and feel sick.

I left the springs, but went with Eibach Pro Truck Sport shocks which are digressive shock like Bilstein 5100's and I've never looked back. I highly recommend not going with the Rubicon Fox shocks. There is a reason why Jeep discontinued them. They're just too soft of a shock for our application IMO. I did sell mine for $200 on FB Marketplace to a guy who was going to DIY them to work on his SxS.

By opposite complaint though, my Eibachs do feel much more road feedback than the Fox shocks ever did. I'm still looking for the goldilocks middle of the road setup I guess.

The aftermarket Fox shocks are way different/ better then the older OEM ones. The factory Rubicon Fox shocks (made to Mopar specs) were under dampened like previous stated. Especially the rear were very bouncy.

I installed a set of Fox 2.0 performance shocks as well as the Fox steering stabilizer on my 2023 Gladiator Willys. I think they are a big improvement over the red shocks. Plus they look nice.
