2024 JT Rubicon and 2024 JL Rubicon aren't the same rear axle.

Last year I traded my 2 door 2022 JL Willys for a 2024 JL Unlimited Rubicon.
Last Saturday I traded my RAM 1500 for a 2024 Gladiator Rubicon.
So I got the build sheets for both the 2024 JL Rubicon and 2024 JT Rubicon.
I thought the JT Rubicon would use the same JL Rubicon rear axle but is doesn't.
The JT Rubicon doesn't have the new full floating rear axle that the JLUR has
but the front axles are the same part number but a different sales code.

Yeah, not new news to most here when the 2024 Gladiator was announced that we were not getting the full float axle.

As to your sticker part number observation, that may just the part number for the housing and not the whole axle assembly with the internals. Not much of any hits on those numbers either Googling.

You would think but the Gladiator has suffered from one Achilles heel when it came to towing and it is engine cooling. Bumping the axles alone to a full float would not help with a higher tow rating without having to address the engine cooling.

Wrangler has margins to address that, not so much with the Gladiator and is probably why they stay with the semi-float axles.

For what it's worth, the rear axle part numbers on pre-2024 models also were not the same. The spring and shock mounts are different on the JT in the rear.

Honestly I'm unimpressed with how they made the full-float. To replace the axle you still have to take the wheel, brake assembly, etc. off (vs just unbolting the center cap and pulling it out through the wheel.

I would guess that you could just swap in a full-float from a JL but I don’t know for sure.

Not happening for 2026 model year.
