After market backup alarm and alarm at front bumper

Good afternoon. I own a 2023 Jeep Gladiator. There is a rear camera but no alarm. There is nothing on the front bumper that alerts me when I about to hit something. Has any one added these features after market and if so, am I looking at replacing both bumpers, so that I can both see and hear what is behind me and what I am about to hit in front of me.

I think the front ultrasonic sensors are standard on JTs outside of the U.S. (Europe, Australia). Probably pretty expensive to retrofit on a U.S. model, and it's still only a plastic bumper. It's also longer than the U.S. bumper (pedestrian impact safety, I think).

There are lines on the backup camera for a reason. Why would you drive forward until you hit something?

Practice in a parking lot with a cone as you learn where your front bumper is.

You’d probably have better luck retrofitting the front trail cam. That at least has a write up and is known to be possible.

The newer jeeps (at least) uses sensors & radar that’s locate behind the rear view mirror. There are no sensors in the Front bumper. The rear has sensors in the bumper. The system is extremely complex, as its programmed with your brakes, cruise control and overall safety functions.

It’s probably easier just to find an aftermarket ‘kit’ that includes sensors and an audible beep you’d hear in the cab. Look around on the internet or Amazon.

There are no sensors in the Front bumper*.

*U.S. front bumper. Export models get ultrasonic sensors in the front bumper standard.

I think there's an option in AlfaOBD to enable/disable the front and rear sensors, but you'd obviously have to have the OEM front sensors for it to actually do anything.
