Well, I've heard the nightmares. I ignored them and bought a Gladiator. Today I went to my garage and got in and started it and was presented with a flurry of messages, the main one being "Service Electronic Stability Control". I tried to back out of my garage, but when I shifted into reverse, the vehicle did not change gears. I shifted back into park and turned it off and opened the door. Then I closed the door and started the Jeep again and got a different message about the cruise control but was able to shift into reverse and back out of the garage. I drove to work and parked, but now I have a check engine light on the instrument cluster. I will probably go back out and see what it does during my lunch break. The only other message I have received since I got it was the one with the star, which I believe is the collision warning alert while starting the Gladiator in my garage. Any ideas? @JeepCares

Did you buy new? Used? If new, it's under warranty and I recommend just taking it to the dealership. If used, check voltage on both batteries. The instrument cluster tends to light up when batteries start to die

Bought brand new September 30 but built in April 2024. Might be low voltage on batteries. I thought that was only a BMW thing. Thanks!

If I charge the primary battery, will the auxiliary battery also charge?

I’ve had a couple of electronic hiccups in the past 4 years. disconnect a battery terminal, wait about 30 seconds, and reconnect. The reset cured mine and they did not reappear.

I will take a 10mm wrench with me when I go to lunch and will report back.

Depends who you ask
At least your getting the gremlins worked out early. These things are super sensitive to battery issues. Pretty sure it’ll be an easy fix.

I went out during my lunch and disconnected the battery for about 5 minutes then reconnected it. The CEL was still there. I restarted the radio and everything was the same. I did a factory reset on the Uconnect. The CEL went away but now my backup camera is gone. Hopefully it will come back over time.

You'll find the nightmares with most brands. It's not a Jeep thing. And if you are searching the internet for such things, then it's like an alien visiting a hospital to determine how healthy the human race is before invading. Forums are magnets for problem discussion.

Why not get the malfunction indicator light code checked?
Most parts stores can do this for free. Otherwise, just saying "I have the CEL on" could mean many dozens of things from a misfire to any number of other things.

Also - take a decent volt meter (don't use the truck display) and check the battery voltage while it's sitting, not running.

That's a grand idea and something I would have done if this happened when I left work on Friday instead of when I was leaving for work on Monday. It's all about timing. I've been posting while at work, as indicated by the fact that I had to grab a 10mm socket and ratchet when I went to the parking lot for my "lunch break".

Went back out and started the truck about an hour later, and the backup camera is back. Everything looks good. I will check the battery when I get home from work.
When you disconnect batteries, and you might know this, you need to disconnect all the negative cables from each other and isolate them. Otherwise the aux battery will keep things powered.

I've had random check engine lights on my 23 Mojave, they come and go with no obvious issue... Hope you have good luck with yours going forward OP.
