Why hasn't this issue been recalled yet?
Because its not a safety issue. Its math for the manufacture......... Lawsuits vs. cost to repair, the one with the lowest number wins aka makes the decision

As posted above, it's a common issue. I put on the Metalcloak reinforcement bracket within 2 months of buying my truck to prevent it from cracking in the first place. It's a quick job, one or two beers, tops.

If you ever add Rockblokz mud flaps: the rear bracket for Rockblokz mud flaps has to be notched to fit around the Metalcloak reinforcement, but it's not difficult to modify it.
is there a thread on the forum with pictures or instructions on how to do this? I couldn’t find it in my search.

I notched mine a little too deep, but this shows where to cut/grind the mudflap bracket.

Because you have to do something like land really hard on a rock to break it. I welded a piece of steel on the broken mount and added the MC reinforcement bracket.

Don't think so. Mine bent slowly over a few trips and I have no damage on the link ends. Stock vehicles a) flex less and b) are less likely to be driving harder trails. I added the MC bracket. The stock mount is stupid. Bent and tack welded mount that holds a rivnut is about the worst possible way to mount that bar. That same engineer probably also put the plastic cup in the ball joints.

I agree it was poorly done. I just know mine which is far from stock held up fine until I landed on some nasty rocks.

The brackets hold up fine until you install aftermarket links that use cheap thin walled bushing sleeves (and sometimes seamed) that put all of the load on the rivnut when they crush and end up inside to the bracket holes with loose bolts!

I first saw this on a client's truck and identified the issue. Mine have held up just fine, but I have machined up my own spacers that properly pinch the frame brackets despite all of the off road and heavy loads my truck has endured.
