OK, so it’s been a long week and maybe my brain’s not working. As mentioned in a couple other posts, I was waiting on wheels which finally arrived and they’ve been installed. I’ve not installed a taser yet. The speedometer is accurate. Going from stock 285-70 X 17 237X 12.50 X 17.

I opened up three other programs on my phone that use the phone’s GPS to test the speed and at 100% matches the speedometer.

So am I correct in saying installing a taser will not correct the speedometer, but will essentially reap the transmission shift points. Right?

Aside from none of the new wheel speed sensors working everything‘s wonderful.

I’ll be adding fender flare extensions tomorrow. I was going to do it tonight, but my knees hurt so bad. I was thinking about a handful of ibuprofen, not taking on another project..

Make sure your phone is not linked to the truck when testing cause it will display the phone's speed instead.
Thanks for that reply and in December when I upgraded from my iPhone 11 Pro Max to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, I definitely did not link the two together. I know this because it asks me every time I get in the car..

You wasn't linked via Bluetooth, carplay or usb port?

That’s one of the reasons why this seems so strange

Correct. The phone was not connected to the USBC and my phone is not linked to the system via Bluetooth.

I'm not familiar with other units but with Alfaobd, it let you view the current tire settings.

Unless you want the 'live' features offered by the Tazer, it is an unnecessary and expensive option. Jscan is a better choice for changing tire size and making other updates to the computer.

How fast were you going for these tests?
Tire comapre shows until you pass 40mph the difference is under 5, which is probably within a margin of error for a phone (?). about 10mph when you hit 70

Did you happen to buy this used? It's possible it was set to 37s by previous owner and they threw the original tires on for trade to keep the 37s for their new ride.

I believe jscan will let you read set tire size without paying for a license, just can't change it.

The computer does not have the ability to detect a different tire size on its own. You'll have to program it. The speedometer should be off if you changed tire size (outside diameter). If it isn't wrong now then it had to have been wrong before.

I use the mile markers on an interstate to compare against the odometer/trip meter. The farther you drive, the more accurate this will be.

Up to 60mph.

Bought it with 7 miles on it. Speedometer and separate disconnected. GPS page were right on before I swap to 37.

I’m back up at the tire dealer. None of the sensors are working a TPS sensors. So they initially said it needs one factory sensor or I have to go back to the factory and have them back to the dealer and have them do something to it. Or I could go back to the house and pick up the spare and they move the center from the spare over Which I wasn’t aware that the spare had a sensor. Came back with one of the running tires plus the spare to find out that they can just take the sensor out of the fifth new tire mounted as a spare and it should work.

LMAO

A good indicator as to if your local dealer is modification friendly is when you go ask them how much time it would take and what would it cost to update the computer tire size.

Service underwriter comes back after asking one of the techs and without walking up to the jeep and without knowledge of the size of tire, his answer was we have to get one of those aftermarket reprogramming things. They were unable and didn’t have the capability to update something that takes a vehicle out of factory specs..

If you have the 8.4" head unit with navigation then you have a built in GPS and the computer is using that for your speed on the digital side of the speed. You still need to adjust for the tire size to correct everything.

Yeah, something's not right with your upgraded tire size and your speedo for sure. Going from basically a 33" tire to a 37" is a big jump. Not sure why the speed sensors would not work after the install.
And to answer your earlier question, by adjusting your tire size (actual measured size), with a programmer will help the computer make the necessary adjustments for shift points, etc. I would also suggest the Jscan app. Inexpensive and is accurate. I'm using it on mine and love how easy and intuitive it u to use. Check their website. They will tell you what blue tooth dongle and what cables to use. I think everything was $50. Also, if you are thinking about those small fender flares that attach to the Jeep's fenders, they aren't going to give you the coverage you need to keep stuff off of the sides with the amount of tire extending outside of the fenders. I'd suggest getting a front pair of the Rokblokz mud flaps. I installed a front set on mine and the do exactly that. You can pick a length and width you think would work for you depending how much poke you have going on. I went with XL Front

Nice looking JTRD!

Thanks for the messages above. I’ll read them better when I have a chance to stop, but I’m heading back from Georgia. Well, I was in Valdosta. I stopped by the discount tire there and spoke to Stephen, and he took his scan to out and found out that the centers were not activated even though the guy in my old town appeared to activate that we did it with all of the centers in his hand at the same time in any event it’s reading on the dash now. Question anyone that’s done tire swaps did you put a sensor in the spare to do a five tire rotation and did it work with the system? I went back to the original tire dealer and they cut the one out of the spare obviously you didn’t do anything. They didn’t pay me back for the sensor. I wanna censor it if it will do any good. Meaning when you’re doing a 5 mile rotation will pick up the fifth sensor that was in the spare tire location.
