I hate carrying keys and could not see myself carrying the Gladiator brick and my house key so I modded the fob to hold my house key.

I punched out the pin holding the flip out key and used it as a templet to cut my house key. Once the key was cut and fitting I used a roll pin in the hole and then drilled another hole just to make sure it stayed.

This is a neat idea; good job! Not really needed for me though as I have a keypad on the house door. Another neat thing would be to modify the keypad lock to recognize the fob and avoid having to enter a pin...

As someone who hates keys and goes as minimal as possible, I love this. Well done.

I like what you did there; if your keyfob’s battery goes bad, you’ll need that internal/flip-out part to get back into your Jeep. Even if your spare fob has a good battery in it, it may not work for remote access either ( ask me how I know ).

now, if you could make this a bit more like a Swiss Army knife, where it could flip out more than 1 key … then I might follow suit.

How are you going to lock the glove box, the console, and the back seats? Plus get into it when the battery dies?

Requiring minds want to know.

Ok I didn't claim it was perfect.

I have been toying with the idea of wiring the flip out key I removed under the vehicle because I might need it someday.

Plus, I cannot tell you the last time I locked a console or glovebox in the last 40+ years so the thought of needing to lock them never crossed my mind.

That’s what I’d do with the original flip out key. Stash it somewhere outside vehicle for emergencies. Maybe under the hood.

And I’m same way regarding locking console/jockey box. Never do that. All locking them does is increase the damage they’ll do looking for shit to steal.

Maybe if I was riding doorless it might be more important. But really just to keep lookie lou’s out. A true thief would tear into both of them in seconds flat.

One company already has a chip that's under the skin on your wrist that has all of your medical info on it. Plus you use to use it to punch in and out at the company HQ's. It's just a matter of time for it to be in everyone. China wants to do it now.

Yeah, I had a buddy that in early 2000s got a chip implanted with his info on it. One of the same chips veterinarian put in dogs or cats and livestock.
Not something I want done, it's bad enough all the RFID encoded in D/L, passport, I.D cards, C.C, bank cards and more. Then add cellphone tracking.
