I may have misled you with my verbiage. I DID Replace both batteries. I just charged them before I installed them. Got the bigger 220CCA Odessey AUX and the bigger 850CCA Odessey Main battery. I have rechecked the X/N array and all ohmned good. It seems to run fine. I have put about 30 miles on it so far but that engine cluster light still comes on. I guess I will just keep driving it, monitor the voltages and hope it eventually goes out.
SMART to charge first. Good.

Is the battery sensor (IBS) plugged in?

What message is on the ESS page?

F42 only disables the pcr. The batteries remain in parallel. When the ECU performs a test, the ecu will command the pcr to open to sample the two batteries. Pulling f42 prevents the Pcr from opening so the ecu thinks both batteries are at the same voltage.
Update, The center dash panel cluster originally had both the little Symbol in it, service your ESS system message but now it only displays the little symbol. I don't know if the message times out after a while or not. I hate to say this but now my cameras have disappeared from my system. It doesn't even indicate I have any on my panel

It may take a few hours and some restart cycles. Often they must sit for a few hours untouched to reset.

If you did not take the two cables apart once you took the cables off the main battery then you still had a hot system.
You need to remove the cable assembly from the top of the IBS, take the TWO CABLES APART FROM EACH OTHER, and make sure those ends don't touch ground, disconnect and take off the IBS and set it aside, and then swap batteries. If you just took off the whole thing from the negative post - you left the auxiliary battery connected into the system, never really isolated and disconnected. So you were swapping out a live battery in a hot system (hot electrically since leaving those two black cables connected to each other left the aux battery fully connected to the truck)
You are correct in that I did leave them apart but, at that time I had already disconnected and removed the AUX battery and had the cables secured. Since then I went out and removed the entire negative assembly, dissassembled all connections from it , and let it sit on my bench for over an hour. I then reassembled all 3 connections, secured it to the negative post. Cranked it up drove it for a few miles, but the little symbol along with the service your ESS system message came on. Then the message went away leaving only the symbol. When I got home none of my built in cameras worked

OK. I will remove the IBS again and let it set overnight. Thanks

Other issues unrelated to ESS can cause the system to disable ESS and turn on the dash error light. Have you hooked up a scanner tool to look for any trouble codes yet?

No, I forgot about checking codes. I will go and check that before I pull the IBS again. Thanks

Do I need to remove it from the post holder as well.?
You shouldn't have to pull the IBS again - I should have stated it can take time for the other modules to come to full communication with all things after a full battery swap and being "dead" for a while.

You are right. The code P009FD is there. Even though the battery is brand new (date code 02/25) and I charged it before install (12.8 VDC) something has drawn it down. Can I charge it from above to see if it holds a charge. I hate to pull that tire and inner fender again. Right now the Main is showing 12.8 VDC

I think "WE ALL" have finally got the frickin symbol off the instrument panel & fixed. At Jebiruph's suggestion I did find a code P00FD. I researched that and decided to charge up the AUX battery from the top. Mine is a 2020, so I found an example photo of this set up. I was about to remove the cable going to the AUX battery from the Main Negative when I noticed something odd. That cable had been removed, heat shrinked and zip tied back. That could have only been done by the ProCharger install folks. there is a cable on it but I am pretty sure that it goes to the winch. I bought the Jeep new with a winch installed and have had problems all along with this ESS system. Surely the dealer would not do something like that?! Anyway I erased the code and the alert is currently not being displayed. I have put the charger on the two main post thinking that it will charge both. I will update tomorrow when I get out with it. I did not take the IBS off again (Per ShadowsPapa advice). I cannot begin to thank the team that struggled to help me with this ordeal. All I can say is THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH --AGAIN!....RAY
P.S. Please keep your fingers crossed, rub your rabbits foot, hug your wife, kiss your baby etc,. that this is the solution.

Remeber to connect your charger nregative lead to the top plate above the IBS sensor. The IBS will not see the charge correctly and could lead to problems later.

P00fd is one of those P codes that does not turn on the cel light but as you found out it was associated with ESS and service ESS message. You should not have had this issue pop up. The only way that I could think of that happening on a good system is that your batteries were at different voltage levels when you made your connections. Jeep decided to change cables for the aux neg and fender ground. It is easy to forget which is which. Easy to test but neglected at time of install. So it is possible to start draining one battery before you have the other cable connected. If you install both cables on the main negative top plate before connecting to the top post, the aux is powering the pdc.
