None of your business :)
I've only owned my oil burner for a few months (also my 1st Jeep!). Was driving back home after helping my kid move out of college. Was parked at a red light and there was a Mojave in the oncoming lane. As he turned and made the turn, he honked at at me and then did the "wave". I also honked in return and waved him back. He was a much younger bloke than my late 40s something ..lol. But really was a cool moment. I've read this "Jeep Wave" thing all the time on the internet and to actually experience in real life was definitely a Jeep moment (no pun intended!). Even my wife was "what was that" and I told her "its a Jeep thing" :).

I've owned and driven Tacomas all my life and nobody honked or waved at me...lol.

It may be counterintuitive,
but it seems that jeep waves
are inversely proportional
to the number of jeeps on the road.

In other words,
the more jeeps there are,
for example in a city with a Jeep dealership,
the fewer waves per jeep encounter.

In my opinion, it was the rarity of jeeps
that started the jeep wave
to acknowledge a fellow enthusiast.

 I've owned at couple Tacoma's myself (1996 & 2007) and a couple other trucks. No waves....
Motorcyclists have a *Wave* too.....

Have you been 'Ducked' yet? That started out as a Jeep thing but has evolved into other vehicles (which is cool).

Not a lot of Jeeps around here in my area.... I'm always looking and always give a wave.

I was just vacationing in Cape Cod area...and WOW...Jeeps everywhere!!

I've always got 'ducks' in the backseat to share. It's fun.......

And another thing,
in addition to Jeeps becoming ubiquitous
we are sealed in air conditioned capsules
shrouded in darkness behind tinted glass.
Jeep waves are difficult to detect.

Back in the day in naked jeeps
waves were big, friendly and clearly visible.

My favorite wave was from a Grand Cherokee.
It happened on the "loop" while driving my naked Jeep TJ.
My hometown is so small the "loop" is a straight bypass.
A pretty, young brunette with a ponytail and baseball hat
overtook me, gave me a look and tossed me a wave.
Ten years have passed
but as you can tell
I remember it vividly.

Jeep wave is fantastic and definitely gives a sense of camaraderie which we don’t always see today.

@Mad Mac Love the poem style story telling!

I still remember getting my first wave. It was fun and exciting. Felt like I was instantly part of this anonymous club.

What I notice is, the further you are from a city, the more waves you get per encounter.

I keep seeing articles the last few days about the 'Jeep Wave'.
Usually its about how it originated, and the one this morning was supposed to be the rules for Jeep Waves.

I remember getting them when i had my old YJ, and I get them still in the JT. I always wave to others in the Jeep 'Wrangler' Family of vehicles.

I have never been into the 'Ducking' thing.
Only time so far that I have been 'Ducked' was a few weeks ago the body shop that was doing the paint work repair to my JT left one on my dash when I went to pick it up.
The Body shop was part of a local Hyundai Dealership thats owned by the same company as the Jeep dealership I bought it from that set up the repair work. My kids kept wanting me to put Ducks on the dash but I refuse, the Duck (sitting in a jeep) sits on my desk in my office at home

I noticed way more waves in the TJ than the JT.

Rates go up more as bodyworks comes off. Doors off and roof off leads to more waves than newer Jeeps or roof and doors on.

I am pretty apathetic about the ducks, but my Toyota owning friends are downright disgusted, lmao. This was an exchange from earlier today in our friend group text......I am the only Jeep owner in a group full of Toyota guys.
