I’m kinda thinking of having the dealership activate it. I really don’t want to crawl under the dash….

Either in another post here or maybe another thread, the dealership does not seem to be able to program the sales code to activate it with their WiTech device, hence the need to use JScan or similar and getting under the dash regardless.

And based on threads in this forum I wonder if one dealership is unable to do what others do with ease. Lol

Have Benny look up your VIN to see if your JT will take the code. Some do, some don't. Except for getting to the plugs, the JScan was easy to use.

Maybe but I know the dealership WiTech tool they use is in many ways more limited than what we can do with JScan and similar. Their WiTech tool will ghost out functions if the vehicle could not have been built in that configuration from the get go due to other conflicting or lack other sales codes. If dealership adds the sale code, in theory it becomes an official part of the vehicle configuration for FCA going and then it can possibly conflict with other updates either software or hardware they may push down.

Unless the sales code being added is tied to an official MOPAR accessory, dealerships are more about servicing a vehicle "as built" and not for some unofficial mods a customer scabs in after the fact.

Found it!!! Only took 4 attempts. But had I seen that latest video prior to attempt #1, I would have been one and done.

Holy! What a nuisance!

I used the latest video that was posted to help with getting the biggest panel off so that the speaker pod could come out and there it was tucked up behind it. Knowing where it was. I'm sure I could have found it without the disassembly. However, to route it through to where the switch is wouldn't have been possible.

Besides that ridiculous location, the placement of some of these screws is just as bad. 4 times taking them off and on, didn't make it any better. Crazy...

I also couldn't figure out how to reattach the center 7mm on that metal cross bar (see vid). I tore that plastic and metal up! Then just put it in wrong just so it was at least there with all the pieces.

I did check and of course the outlet isn't already activated. It seems like a pain to buy the Tazer, etc... just to turn that setting on. But most likely a whole lot cheaper than paying the dealership to do it. I'll be getting a quote from them tomorrow.

this was the money pic right here! on my 2025 Gladiator Rubicon X, I was able to pop the 115V switch plate out (rather than remove the panel). From left side of plate cutout, I shined a flashlight into the back of the void where I saw the electrical tape (2 separate spots were taped about 1-2 inch apart). I followed that wire up to upper right of void and saw the green wire, the connector was not visible. I used an xacto knife taped to a screw driver to cut the 2 pieces of electrical tape. I used a small fish hook on end of long screw driver to pull the connector down through the switch plate.

Okay, so I finally got up in there and installed the extension cables for the OBDII port. Only had the outlet and switch installed since late May. So now it is activated and the 110 AC in the bed works just fine.
It was almost as much of a hassle as accessing the wire harness for the switch.
Again, thanks to everyone in this thread that posted all the pertinent information for the install and activation.

So just to confirm you just popped out the blank plug where the on-off switch would go. I also have a 2025 Rubi. Thanks in advance

Some can and some can't. It depends on how far back the wire is taped. It should be your first check though. Just follow the light switch wire it's taped to that.

Maybe I misunderstood you. The switch itself yes, you pop out a little blank panel and the switch pops right in.
The connector for that switch requires a bit of dash disassembly to retrieve the end it plugs into. There is a video (around page 6 or so Post 84) that shows dash disassembly and will be a big help for you. Read this thread carefully and you will have any and all information needed to install 110VAC in the bed of your truck.
