Hurricane for me - but since I just traded - this may be the last Jeep I ever own (but if I could swing it in the future, it might be tempting - I love I6s)
Would the H6 fit the JT chassis, or will it need a longer engine bay?
The 500cc/cylinder seems to resemble the BMW recipe (2.0 4Cyl and 3.0 6Cyl).
Ram Forum comments seem to be very positive on this engine.

Good question. In another thread I compared front pulley/balancer to rear mounting surface of the 4.0 and a hemi engine - can't recall what I came up with, though!

I know this doesn’t take pulleys, larger radiators, intercoolers, etc. into account, but here we go. The sizes I am giving are for engines only.
6.4 Hemi dimensions: 42x42x48
3.0 Hurricane dimensions: 33.9x29x33.4
So in theory, the 3.0 should be able to fit into the JT.
We all know the 6.4 fits.
Be gentle 😂

That’s interesting info! I tried to find some references within the Crate Engines, but had no luck.

No, it's too long. The original design specs had it fitting in at the same length as the 3.6L, but things apparently changed; it's longer than the Pentastar. I'm pretty sure the next platform will be getting the "standard" i6 hurricane, though.

So, there will be no V8, but the i6 will be better for economy, similar to, or with more power and smoother. A better option would be a REV powertrain, but we all know how rabid some get even mentioning battery electric.

Huh! That's interesting, but that's still only the block. You do need to account for cooling and power management (those intercoolers, turbos and pulleys).

I imagine someone out there has the length of the 6.4 Hemi. Maybe they’ll let us know for sure what it is.

Now I can say "told you so..........."

Doesn't matter what will fit. People who have no idea how automotive development, the life cycles and more work are the ones who keep "it's coming, there's no reason for it not to" and "demand will make it come"............... and they have all this emotion invested in it while those who know and explain are just haters and really don't know what they are talking about.

he's really reflecting every point I've ever brought up on this - but some run a poll and use that as proof it's going to happen, or some guy who isn't even directly connected to FCA says "it's coming".
Even people who work FOR or WITH FCA say - no it's not, but the arguments persist.

Dead topic - it's not going to happen. The guy in that video basically explains (though much better than I) why it's not going to happen.

I don't think it's even worth speculating on this.

Just wait and see.

Doesn't matter, the MCA is out, the Gladiator is what it is until the next gen in 28/29.

I don't see it as speculating at all when a person who works at/for FCA - is inside the building, sees what's staged and so on, then another one who has access to the documents directly, first hand, knows the vendors and now things work from an insider's view - directly, first-hand, are saying "no way".
It's really not speculating when you have direct, first-hand information and there's nothing on the table, along with all of the other reasons, including contractual, financial and others.

6 months ago, FCA employees were sure the Hemi was gone.

I think the HP 540HP inline 6 Hurricane would give the 392 a real run in the Wrangler or JT. Cleaner, lighter, better MPG, cheaper.
