60k change sounds about right to me.
If that is your opinion, then do it.
This I totally believe because if they released the spec to them to allow them to make a formulated specification then it must be nearly identical.
We have talked at length about my problems and yesterday and again today my JT is having the transmission replaced. The electronics and valving have been problematic on mine for at least 30-40k and I finally am trying to get it resolved . I made this statement before .
If it shifted into the gear it was solidly in it ...with No slippage. It just would NOT shift in reverse ALOT and 3rd to 4th was a doozy. Codes were always for TCM communication problems .
You had control issues, TCM, connector or otherwise. Likely the transmission proper, bench tested, would be fine

@ShadowsPapa that is exactly why I went the avenue that I did and will be keeping the old one. I know a guy who will help me and I am gonna rebuild it .
If He craps out on me I will save up and have Jasper or someone rebuild it.
Yes I believe every clutch friction plates etc are all good.

Did you by chance ever water ford or have the TCM connector under water? (You may know its location) behind the passenger wheel well liner and located just under the AUX battery. In case you know where it is, have you disconnected it, inspect it for water ingress or and cleaned it out or done any kind of maintenance to it to clean and lubricate the pins?

When I investigated mine, some time ago, I took my TCM apart and sprayed out both mating surfaces with DeoxIT D5 then top coated with DeoxIT Sn5 and put them back together. So far so good. All the pins are communicating.

I think many of our operating issues can be some grounding gremlin in a connector. As you know, we have so many of these major connectors that are “water proof” but I think using this cleaner and spray is just another line of defence that works in our favour to maintain communications.

Not too long ago, I had a code that said I had an injector stuck open. If I thought the worst, I was looking at tearing off the top of the engine to get at the connector and injector but because the wiring goes into a harness and this harness eventually ends up at the major connector to the ECM, and because that connector is just easy to get at, I pulled it apart (which automatically reboots the system) and I sprayed it out with the DeoxIT and put it back together… no more stuck open injector. A big problem for me, became simple.

Nothing that deep not that I can recall , now some mud one time long before the issue started yes. It was slurried mud frame deep . But never experienced this till many thousands of miles later ..and I recall washing it ALL out from under it

I would LOVE to see that rebuild documented. Super awesome that you’re going after it.

Yep if I do it gauranteed to be documented
The key is - CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. A piece of lint can lock up a valve in the valve body.
Use lint free rags only - not ordinary shop rags.
And keep things clean.
Automatics don't have true filters, and the fluid DOES get around other parts in there, unlike engines. So crap left in after a rebuild can literally destroy a transmission.

This will allow me to have a spare transmission ready to go back in. I never intended on getting more than one of theses trucks because the aftermarket for Jeep is so strong you can build these any way ya like many times over. Y9u should see my list of things I am gonna add soon enough.

What I hate is he’s recommending g a flush. Don’t do that. Just short change it a couple times if you want more new fluid. Too many things could be dislodged by a flush, killing the tranny. I’m not a trans expert by any means. I’m passing along what I’ve learned from experts.
The Dealership I deal with told me that unless it is near brand new they are not allowed to do a transmission install for instance without a new transmission cooler. They told me that is where the particles will get trapped and where they ultimately release during a flush. And they said it will kill the trans in short order.

Yes, it's a strike against flushes. ATF is high dispersants, low detergents (some suggest about 1/20th the amount of engine oil). ATF has just enough to remove the varnishes or products of oxidation from disks and valves/spools.
Dispersants form a barrier - surrounding wear particles, sort of like your body surrounds an intruder within. They are attracted to wear particles and surround them.
