I'm looking for an electric drill to keep in the truck and replace socket set that comes in the glovebox. Anyone find a product they are happy with?

How much are you trying to spend? Typically these kinds of bits are used with an impact driver but you have to be careful about how hard you go with it. I have a Milwaukee M12 fuel driver with adjustable settings (including a drill setting) to make sure I don't damage anything. It will be tough to get the door nuts off with it due to size but a right angle adapter would take care of that

I have an impact drive and drill. I was thinking a cheap option to leave in the truck for when I want to quickly pull things off away from home

How often are you going to be away from home and suddenly need to remove the top and doors? Seriously asking because it's just not something I would consider. If I were travelling specifically to go somewhere that would be an option I would take the tools with me or just deal with the provided ones, I only need to remove the door straps anyway (leave the nuts out most of the year) since I have a soft top and just flip it back when I want the open ride. In that case though I would just take the tools with me for those occasions.

Look at cordless electric ratchets. Milwaukee has a nice one but that's probably more than you want to spend for this. Amazon has some that are more budget friendly

Would one of the cordless ratchets (ryobi, milwaukee, etc.) be safer than a drill or impact driver?

It should be safer than a drill (depending on setting), and definitely safer than an impact. You can get some that are rated as low as 30 ft-lbs of torque. If you need more you can normally use them in manual mode to tighten up or break loose.

I bought a bullshit electric screwdriver from the bargain bin at Home Depot. I keep it under the seat next to the bolt storage container. Dramatically reduces the time required to takeoff the doors. Just make sure you choose one with a relatively narrow head so that it can be close enough to the door without scraping the paint when using

I have a little dremel power screwdriver that I used all year last year...just got a flexible extender for it to make it easier to get to the hinge nuts but haven't tried that out yet. The dremel has a micro USB charge so I just plug it in the truck whenit gets low...still use the torx bits that came with the truck.

I use my regular Ryobi driver. I keep a roll of painter's tape under the back seat and put a piece of it below each door hinge bolt when removing or replacing the bolt so that the rotating driver head doesn't scratch the paint.

How could you scratch the paint?
