Do the 5.7 and stay under $75,000.
It's doable.
I wonder why only the 6.4 was mentioned...........

Yea guys Iam not going to get worked up about this until shadowpoppa gives stellanty big wigs the okay to move forward on the V8 JT.
How do you think this happened? I contacted my buddy, Zeldin and he dropped the fines making it economically feasible.

You're welcome.

The Road and Track article has a slightly different quote:

"...we will tap the power and performance of the Hemi across Jeep products ..."

https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a...ed-indefinitely-gladiator-gain-a-v-8-as-well/
Not surprising - too much paraphrasing, misquoting and so on.
That's why until there's something that you can watch and listen to and get the full context and exact quote, you really don't know. If you read one article, it's pretty narrow, the other? Wide open.
And that first one was only 2 actual "quotes" (likely incorrectly quoted at that) the rest was all yak from the blogger (I don't consider such people journalists)

Did you see this "quote" in the R&T article?

“Jeep fans, don't worry, the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 will have a home at Jeep,” Borderdorf said. “We will extend the availability of the 392 on Wrangler, and in fact, we will tap the power and performance of the Hemi across Jeep products ... so Wrangler and Gladiator fans and Hemi fans in general, don’t worry.”

And at least they got this part right -

>>Even more exciting than the Wrangler 392 news, however, is Broderdorf strongly hinting that the Gladiator will soon be home to the same 6.4-liter V8 as its Wrangler cousin.<<

That's more correct - strongly hinting.

I would love the power of a Hemi,, But,,, I paid 60K for my '22 then added 15K in mods. It's now worth about 45K. A new JT with a Hemi will be probably 80K+ tax. So is it going to be worth another 40K for the added power? then start all over with the mods.? I am sure I am not alone in this position. To end up with a new Hemi JT modded like mine will cost me about 60K,,, I have to pass on that for now.

I read that R&T article that it will be Hemi, not 100% the 392, which opens the door to the 5.7. With AMW's ramp up with all the 5.7s, I'm betting we'll see that 5.7. I'll buy it either way.

My 2 cents, probably because the 6.4 has remained in production to this day for both Wrangler and RAM HD trucks. All the talk I have heard of bringing the 5.7 HEMI back has been it will be a E-Torque for the RAM truck and that line still needs to tool back up.

Quicker to get the 6.4 into a Gladiator than any 5.7 HEMI currently. Plus it will be a HALO option they can milk for $$$.

That sort of fits what my sales guy has heard.......... he hints that there's been a lot of success with the E-Torque system.

And of course, as always, your logic makes much sense and is well stated.

I know there is some Wranglers with E-Torque 3.6L Pentastar but I do not think it is a popular choice and would convert well over to a 5.7 HEMI E-Torque going in a JT.

My understanding it that the non E-Torque 5.7 HEMI is still being made for crate motors but they are no where scaled to go back into a high volume production quickly.

Source: Jeep Gladiator 392 V8 Confirmed, Wrangler 392 Continuing Indefinitely

On Thursday, at a media briefing Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf said the 392 cubic inch V8 engine will be leveraged in the Jeep lineup followed by, “Wrangler and Gladiator fans, and Hemi fans in general, don’t worry.”
After this announcement, it’s unlikely any Jeep fans are resting, as some might be hyperventilating. Who’s ready for a four-door pickup with removable doors, roof, and a huge V8 engine? Prepare your bank accounts.
Broderdorf said “after being out at the Rubicon Trail, it’s clear just how much people love the roar of the 392.” It’s worth noting, people traverse the Rubicon Trail at slow speeds, which means no engines are roaring.
“The 6.4-liter Hemi V8 will have a home at Jeep,” Broderdorf said.
A Home the end .

Tick on the 5.7 seems about as frequent or common as it is reported on here.
At least there are ample options available for the fix/upgrade. Out of the three 5.7's I've had, one ate a cam at around 140k. No codes, I just heard it and decided to pull the valve cover to confirm. Ordered a cam kit from one of the dozens of outfits that offer them these days. A weekend in the garage with some hand tools and things were buttoned back up. I wouldn't say its an easy fix, but it's definitely not hard. That Grand Cherokee is over 200k now.
