How bout let people do what they want with their own vehicles? Go drive yours the way you want, I promise we don't care.
I'm legitimately asking how it holds up to an obstacle, because last I checked this is a Jeep forum? For that price I'd hope it's stout enough but I don't know? Sorry if I hurt your feelings in the Starbucks drive thru, not that I care.

No hurt feelings here, brother. If you had taken the time to read the OP's posts you would have seen that he did, in fact, tell you he doesn't "wheel". Not sure rolling in here and shitting all over somebody's purely aesthetic preference is the right move is all I am saying.

Not everyone on this forum are wheelers. I believe he actually said in his post he doesn't wheel. In fact, his post was he was gonna run a stock tire and put a cover on it. Maybe you didn't understand that part of his message?

Your comment should be to somebody who has one of these tire carries and has real world experience wheeling them, not to somebody who wants to run for only for aesthetic purposes.

Tell us you don't wheel it without telling us you don't wheel it. The biggest drawback of the JT on the trails is the long ass rear overhang and terrible departure angle. But I guess I could sirens a bunch of money to make it far worse for the "look"? How well do these $2500 contraptions hold up when I drop the full weight if the rig on the spare hanging off the back when I come off a ledge?
you do you, not your truck or your money.....I didn't know wheeling it was a stipulation for the group or asking a question...how do you know I don't have a truck I go wheeling with? hmmm...

My point was you're making a bad departure angle far worse. If that doesn't matter for your use then it doesn't matter. I still want to know how these expensive bumper/spare tire carriers hold up if you do drop the tire on a rock. Even if you don't know from experience and that is not your intended use, I thought maybe in your research of these options you might have that information? I know sarcasm is hard for some, and even harder on text, but it is a legitimate question/ concern.

I am one of the most sarcastic people you'll ever meet, but I also know how to read the room. I don't know you or anyone else on the forum so I choose to be polite until I know you, ask questions relevant to someones post and not ramble on my points. I think what bothers most people including me about your response is it has nothing to do with my original post and then all the responses after that. You read what you wanted to read. Clearly I'm not a wheeler, I'm not going off-road, I want it simply because I've had three other Jeeps, 2 International Scout 800's, a Toyota Tundra Pro and all but the yoda had a rear tire carrier and I like the look. I don't care about the angle, the weight, etc. I'm putting a stock spare tire on there and I'm going to drive through Starbucks and buy my coffee. That simple. Point being, you're going in your own direction almost out of your way to prove your point of which I honestly have no interest in what you are saying. I won't be sarcastic but I will be blunt.

Well if you happen to find any info on strength vs obstacles in your research some of us would like that info. If you don't or just don't care to share because you don't care for your use that's all you.

And that strength could quickly be put to the test in the Starbucks drive through when the car full of teenage girls behind you filming a tik tok miss the brake pedal and run into the tire hanging back there, but you do you.

Not compatible with the camera, so would have to re-route it. But JCR offroad use to have a modular type one. So was technically removable if needed. But you had to buy the bumper, swing gate and the tire mount a la carte. Wasn't for me, but saw it someplace once as a demo setup. Was cool that it was all modular though.

And your private thread...oh wait it's the internet. Your feelings mean nothing to anyone. Sorry that asking about the strength of your tire carrier got you all emotional. I think they have therapy for that.

Well, to be fair, you came in off the top rope with this to start, “Tell us you don't wheel it without telling us you don't wheel it”.
I'm about to put the JCR carrier on with a custom tire mount for a 40 that my buddy designed and built. I have seen two go through the rubicon with carriers. I think they look pretty good with a bed cover/rack and the tire carrier on the back

For sure, just got it back from powder coat. Will be a few weeks however as I have the dreaded corrosion on some doors. Hopefully goes in next week to have everything fixed. I went with the JCR since the hitch is incorporated into the bumper, and doesn’t hang down. Looks pretty stout. I will also probably do a frame stiffener as I have 40s, 60s and sometimes am an idiot and use the pedal vice my brain.
