I went down the rabbit hole of the toothless guy on the internet, since he does seem to be right about a V8 Gladi from his videos from 6 months ago, he is predicting a $65,000 5.7 Gladiator, to which I would say HELL YEAH!

I also researched the 25 vs 26 Durango. The Hellcat Durango is $5k less than the 26 at $80k vs the 25 at $85k, which pissed me off because how the hell can the Wrangler be 100,000 with no supercharger!?!? and the 5.7 is down about $7k, starting at $42,500 next year.

A $65K 5.7L JT with an $85K 392 JT would be winners.

Part of why the 392 Wrangler was so expensive wasn't just profit margins- limited production meant the profits weren't getting sucked up by CAFE fines.

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!

That said, I'd be happy if I could get a Mojave with a 392 and a stick. Would settle for the 345 with a stick.

I will be happy just lower prices in everything and stay with 3.6L less parts to work on.

The dealer mark ups will be insane if they make a 392 JT.
No way it will come in less than 95k.
Like others have said put a 5.7 in it and price it right and they will sell.
Feel bad for the folks who brought the modified Gladiators from 3rd parties and paid astronomical prices to get a hellcat motor or a 392. No thanks, dont want a v8 that bad lol.

If they can't make it for less than $95k, I'm not sure anyone will buy them with dealer markups let alone for sticker price.

That would also make the 3rd party prices seem pretty reasonable. $40k for a 392 swap at AMW.

Numbers could be off - it was what I could gather about fines in various years, the CAFE numbers and other stuff, but I figured fines to be at least $5,000 per JLU. It varied with year and numbers.

The fine has been changed to 0 going back to 2022, so that's going to be a huge difference going forward and likely the biggest reason the automakers are now talking about different engines and production numbers.
Think about it - you put in a V8 that falls below the NHTSA's numbers by about 15-20 mpg and the fines are applied PER MPG MISSED (EDIT - that's per TENTH of an MPG missed) (fine times the differences between real MPG and the CAFE number) it adds up. Before this year, the fine was applied to how badly you missed. Not just that you missed, but by how much you missed.
If the V8 was 15 and the target was 32, you missed by 17, so take that times the fine, then times the number of vehicles.

Still hoping it turns out to be a 5.7 gladiator for a more modest upcharge of 8K or around there.
8k is too much I can get my hands on a 5.7 cheaper than that . But the 850RE is supposed to be capable of holding up against the 5.7.

But not all the install work etc. there is a reason amw charges 30k and it's not the actual engine and parts cost but all the install and R&D work that went in to it.

Does anyone have any experience with AMW or have any reviews? I haven't seen any other than YouTube.

The AMW4x4 and DRC 5.7 deal is tempting but even at $31k installed I might as well get a used TRX at that price point. Sticker for my truck is $46k before everything I have done to it, add on a 5.7 install and I am in used TRX territory with a lot less power and no sweet supercharger whine and much less bells 'n whistles. I personally feel like they are about $10k too high for another 150 +/- HP and TQ. That is also a fact that Jeep will have to consider. A TRX is a lot of fun to drive, capable offroad as well as trails IF there is room for it because it is a monster in size. That was the main reason I sold mine and got a Gladiator, it is the perfect size truck in my opinion. Easy to drive on trails and in parking lots, just needs a little more oomph with a nice V8 rumble, for a reasonable price.

Probably can source a 5.7 and do the swap yourself given you research and add the extra cooling etc. I think one guy on here did it.

TRX is too big and wide. i guess its a preference. A guy on you tube gets 9 mpg on his TRX! comparing a gladiator to the TRX is not apples to apples. i think a 6.4 in the gladiator is a perfect setup. aslo a used TRX? I bet most owners beat the shit out of that engine

now for those that think the 6.4 will be 84k? comparing a rubicon wrangler base price is 51K, the 395 rubicon wrangler base price is 91K and they add the 8K 392 option that adds the gold colors, badging etc... thats why it jumps to 100K

I got 12mpg on E85 in mine with a smaller pulley, port blower and other power mods, just depends on how hard you press the skinny pedal. My point is you can get more truck and more horsepower for less money. Plain and simple. The AMW4x4/ DRC deal isn't a good value at its current price point and that is something Jeep will also have to consider with their Hemi pricing since Ram is starting production of the TRX again. The Wrangler 392 is special, the Wrangler itself is a niche vehicle, iconic, cult following, etc. While yes the Gladiator is also a niche vehicle, its not as iconic nor does it have the same cult following. I do prefer my Gladiator over my TRX but if we are talking adding a V8, the value will have to be there otherwise there are better deals out there.
