Server Upgrade, Search & Alerts Issue ⚠️

Hi everyone. Sorry for the downtime / limited access while we upgraded the server! The site speed improvement should be noticeable, and will get better as we finalize the tweaking.

Regarding Phantom Alerts

You may experience an alert bubble that you can't clear (or has the wrong count). If you do, try the following:

1) open your full alerts page: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/account/alerts?show_only=all

2) scroll down to the bottom of this page and click "select all" and "Mark read" then click "Go". This should hopefully clear your alert bubble.

3) if that doesn't work, repeat step #2 for all successive alert pages (if you have any) - i.e. pages 2, 3, etc..

Cloudflare is a huge outfit and does a lot aside from servers.

AWS is another web service that a lot of companies use. (my son was certified in AWS for a while)

Cloudflare is more like a front/gateway (reverse proxy, technically) to the actual host. It protects the site/provider against attacks and provides a secure, sometime faster, route as opposed to a direct path, but what you ultimately land on is provided by another hosting service (which may or may not be public info).

In the past, if you couldn't get to the forum, you often got a cloudflare message stating that they were fine and the issue was with the site's server elsewhere. So it appears to me they were only the proxy and were distributing the content from another server(s) elsewhere.
I recall at least 3 or 4 Cloudflare messages over the years.

Both are correct.
CF has servers
and
They can help maximize traffic flow if you are not using their servers.
My bet, based on past error messages - the servers are elsewhere, but the traffic is managed by CF.
Of course, my name isn't Jay, and that could be incorrect.

Buy the way, I have 5" floppy of Windows 1.

I finally gave up all the rest to a legacy lab my now 40yo son, donated to his alternate High-school in El Centro, CA along with all the 8086-pentiums laptops and desktops in around 2001-2.
Cleaned out half a storage room. He helped them put it all together. Tons and tons of multiple versions of Dos, Win and many applications software that ran on both.
