There's plenty of range..............you just need to make sure to plot your trip so it's all downhill. Infinite range!! <sarcasm> ;)
People here do that with the 4xe getting to the ski resort and back. It's 16 miles and 3000 feet of elevation gain to the parking lot, which uses most of the battery, then you coast/regen back down the mountain.

The power to charge the EV is probably coming from a coal fired power plant.

We love our new 4xe, but echo the battery drain in hilly conditions. We live in the OC hills and get about 20 miles per full charge. Keep in mind a full 110V charge takes us about 11 hours, so honestly to get the full value of the 4xe around-town EV capability, you really need a 220V charger. You can do your errand, return home and charge. By the time you're ready to go out again, you'll have near-full charge (est at 2.5 - 4 hour for a full 220V charge).

They're really hanging everything on J4U, which will go all at once as soon as they decide.. Right now, where to build it, what to call it... Up in the air, and every day they waste is a day they're not cranking out 1100 mudane, boring, fleet volume sales leaders.
Yeah, agreed. they need something that’s more affordable to sell to the masses. The Hornet should have been that but it’s priced ridiculously.

I wish they would ditch the exposed hinges on the Recon. I’m over it and there’s no “heritage” for this model to pay homage to.

Most EVs these days have the same range as your gladiator. Including these Recons. If you're getting far enough out to need to refuel your gladiator on the trail with Jerry cans, then the Recon isn't the vehicle for you.
I have a Long Range America auxiliary tank, so I can do 600 to 700 miles depending on terrain.

I think it will be interesting seeing what people do in the Recon. Looks like breakover and departure are better than a Gladiator but worse than a Wrangler.

I'm more impressed you can get 600+ miles away from fuel.
No, I can get 300 miles away from fuel, then I have to come back! I live in the desert, 300 miles away from the nearest fuel is EASY!

looks like a Commander. I wish they would attach the mirrors to the A-pilar. It helps when taking the doors off. They don't look half bad.

Here is an oddball

😆 🤣... Also….. Let’s not forget…… what it takes to dispose of those batteries.

My lease ends after 24 months. Let someone else worry about battery disposal.

🙄 You missed the point….
I got the point.
You missed mine. People buying electrics to save the planet ignore the data that doesn’t fit with their model. I would buy for convenience but that 20 (or more) minute charge is my problem.

No one buys electrics to save the planet.

No one ever cares where power comes from until it's being used to charge an EV.

Just nonsense people say to hear their heads rattle.
