Title kind of says it all.

I'm coming from a JKU and, in planning to build out the JTRD, I have a lot of electronics and chargers to feed. I have an oversized battery in the JKU and would like to do the same in the JT if possible.

What's that largest sized battery anyone has fit into the battery tray?
Extra points for fitment pics with model number. ;)

The battery box is not bigger in the diesel so whatever you did in the JKU will work just fine.

I have always wanted a second battery setup but didn’t truly need it so haven’t spent the time or money on it. If I did the rear winch like I wanted I definitely would have put the second battery out back as well.

I just wonder if it's smaller, or different dimensions.

I didn't do a 2 battery system, just 1 large battery with 1100CCA. Then I installed the EcoFlow "alternator charger" and the JT 240amp alternator in the JKU which gave plenty of output and reserve power to charge my 2000Wh EcoFlow battery at 800 watts.

I also run rear view cameras on the trailer, HAM/GMRS, refrigerator, starlink mini, and a few other small things.

The system worked really well for me, never needing solar even on multi-week trips.

The H7 I put in mine and that's what came in it (tow option added a bigger battery). It basically took up the entire tray. You may be able to go wider, but I think the H8/H9's are just longer which is where you would hit.

If you have the tow package, you already have the biggest battery that will fit. H7.

Grab a tape measure, get the dimensions of your battery box or intended mounting location, then compare that to the measurements of the various battery groups available.

Quick google search shows the H7 and 94R to be the exact same size battery. Just different units of measurement.

My JTRD has the tow package, and it had the smaller battery in it. I had to take the spacer out to get the bigger one in.

I've learned that I have the same issue so I'm debating whether I run it til it dies, or replace it early before I begin adding all of my electronics.
