Hi y'all, I have question since the configurator was released. I want crank windows but it is only on the Sport trim. Why is that? I mean I want the Cold Weather Group but that's only option starting with the Sport S.

I really want a Rubicon loaded with most options but with crank windows and none of the safety options. If I factory order it is there a way I can get it the way I want?

Well it's 2018 almost 2019. I'm surprised that there is crank windows even on the base model.

Only way to get them would be to buy a Sport or buy a different model and then change the door panels and associated parts or change the entire doors. I had crank windows on my '12 the crank windows were not so bad but not having keyless entry was a pain.

I don't want air conditioning either but I don't have a choice with that though....

I feared that. Get the same color doors and panels from a sport and change them. I don't need power windows or mirrors. I do like the heated seats, heated steering wheels and off road Rubicon bits.

I wish they had a hardcore Rubicon meant for actual trail stuff and nothing else. Jeep is trying to play both sides. Give the off road stuff but some luxuries too which I understand why from a business perspective.

Lol. Even in idaho you need AC. Some years our summers have days hotter than 100 degrees, barely hotter than 100 but still... At least it is dry heat and not miserable heat like humid heat.
We also have winter which sucks.

I'm from Houston, Texas although I moved to Seattle a few years ago. I hate air conditioning. Every car that I owned that has had it I just don't use it ever.

Yep I'm from Houston and the heat was humid and sticky and definitely hit 100+ on many occasions. Still not bothered with no AC maybe I'm just a lizard.

Why not get half doors ? They seem to be an option for the 2019 JLs so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be on the gladiators.

It rains where I live sometimes so when the sun is out and it is nice. I'm going all out with no doors.

Getting a new set of doors sounds like the smallest headache. I wonder if the factory could make that happen. Just tell them to "accidentally" put sport trim doors on it.

I know right. They literally use the exact same doors. But it still isn't an option.

In the initial Feature & Availability sheet that came out on Nov 28th it was listed that power windows, power mirrors and power locks would all be optional on Sport models and would be standard on Overland an Rubicon models. Unfortunately there was no break down listing for the Sport or for the Sport S models. That break down only now appears on the Jeep build site.
