I fail to see what's heavy duty about 1/8th inch material. Also the .06 wall tubing? Weak ASF

Yeah...up the thickness and weld the bull bar to the bumper, then we're in business.

Thanks for your advice. Some may suggest that having a removable bull bar on the bumper is preferable, as it makes it easier to replace if it gets damaged. What we can do now is offer you more options.

NS, I’ve got thicker steel protecting my ARB fridge in the bed…another issue I’ll bring up is the (replaceable bolting on bars) Rust, grime, dirt, mud and road salt collection points. Welded is a much better connection solution that won’t look like Fido's fanny in a month.

Just my opinion, but this bumper is not heavy-duty. The thickness of the plate steel and the tube is subpar. I think this is a perfect match for the zombie grill enthusiasts who are after a customized look and don't have many dollars to spend on it.
Full confession: I purchased one of these Chinese bumpers for my earlier JKUR years ago. It did indeed prove to be a piece of junk. Not saying this bumper is, however, the apple does not often fall very far from the tree.
Another point, why do the cheap Chinese metal parts come with that same sandpaper-like finish? That "Coating" immediately declares to the world: I am Chinese."

The over textured coating is to hide all the defects.

Tougher than a bumper built for cosmetic reasons; no way I'd trust that thing in a recovery. I know they are a sponsor, but Hooke needs to just be honest here and change their name to Mall Crawler Unlimited.

They have a point, the bolt-on barwork does make it easier to replace when it gets damaged - like if someone decides to lean on it.

Guys, can't expect heavy duty for just $300 though. It's priced like a plastic bumper and probably has protection atleast like an aluminum bumpers, but weight of a steel bumper.

No, it's junk and the marketing is misleading to the uninformed. This crowd has correctly called a spade a spade, or in this case a turd a turd.

The marketing offers a false sense of security while stating poor minimal material standards, This thing has the durability of a Ikea book shelf.
