Im sure this has been posted here before. However, has anyone put the 2024/2025 Mojave X springs (the springs from Mojave x with oem steel bumpers) on the front of an older Mojave with a steel bumper? And what were the results? Gained 1/2 inch? Less dive when stopping? Please share.

I think I saw a post where the guy did just that and gained 1/2" to 3/4". I don't know why people are so averse to just buying aftermarket springs. Every one of the dozens we've run over the years has been better than the factory springs. Get a set of 1" lift springs and you likely won't gain more than 1/4" to 1/2" on a Mojave but it will ride so much better than the floppy, squishy stock springs.

Chris "ecidiego" did it with good results in Feb. of this year, searching "Mojave X springs on older Mojave" will pop it up, as it is at bottom of this thread.. I also am going that route, but just the front as I have Max Tow rear springs on 1 & 3/8" spacers from Icon....Jack

I think it’s because the factory springs pair well with the factory shocks, and a lot of those people (me included) want to retain those stock handling characteristics for a build without breaking the bank.

It’s hard to gauge how the truck will behave with a different aftermarket spring rate mated to stock shocks when Jeep doesn’t publish the stock spring rates… Or is it not hard? I don’t know, maybe you can educate me. All I know is I got a set of Mojave X springs for $30 and looking forward to installing them.

I don’t want to deal with trial and error or trusting the testimony of someone who probably have a very different build, weight, and needs.

In my opinion it's just as much trial and error running different stock springs. The idea that oem or aftermarket shocks are valved for a certain spring rate or even vehicle weight is just false. Look at aftermarket shocks. Same part number for 1"-3" of lift on everything from a 2dr JL sport or a JT Rubicon. One likely weighs 1500lbs more than the other with 3x the towing capacity. I'm still on the stock mojave shocks. Started out with the 2" AEV spacer lift with shock extensions. The front springs are just too soft especially if you run it hard in the desert. Into the bump stops on every bump. Now I'm on 3.5" metalcloak springs with no spacers and it still rides great and the shocks are just as good as they were at stock height. With the addition of the rock krawler triangulated 4 link in the rear, front geometry correction brackets, and flipped drag link it rides better than stock in my opinion. Obviously that's way more lift than you're looking for, and at $30 the x springs are worth a shot. Personally I know is still find them too soft but I run the truck hard at speeds most won't even do in road in the dirt.

Quoting my impressions:

Rears are on. 1/2". I gained a pretty even half inch on all four corners with the X springs. The only things I removed in the rear were the lower shock bolt and the lower end link nut. I used a bottle jack on the bump stop pad and had just enough clearance to install the springs without worrying about the brake lines.

The X rear springs actually had one less coil than 2021 Mojave springs and are the same height. They raised the truck a half an inch in the rear so they must have a much heavier rate.

Going to take it out in a little bit for ride impressions.

As a reminder I added the front and rear OEM steel bumpers with bed protection and the factory tow hitch none of which were present on my stock Mojave. I wish I had before bumpers measurements but I don't.

Bitchen. No lie - the springs returned the truck to exactly how it rode stock with none of the added stuff. I read somewhere that the Mojave shocks have a very limited sweet spot so that half inch lift and clearly higher rate definitely returned them to wherever that was. 100 bucks used. Hell yeah.

People who had been riding in my truck recently asked me if my shocks were blown. It just rode like shit with the suspension compressed the way it was and the way the 2021 spring rate was dealing with it. It's hard to believe that just those couple hundred pounds did it but they were at the very front and very end of the vehicle which amplifies everything.

If your truck is like mine I highly suggest picking up a set of these used and throwing them on.

I added the Mojave X springs to my ‘21 when I added Mopar steel front and rear bumpers. Added another 1/2 inch or so to my AEV spacer lift. Actually just sold my jeep and will be selling those springs. Put the old stock ones back on and removed the lift.
